Splinterlands End of Season 89

Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome to my blog! Season 89 has just ended. I didn't play in some days and wasted my energy but still managed to make it to top 100 this season. I earned some glints for making it in the top 100 in Silver League. I used SplinterStats to generate the following data.

Performance

Somehow I managed to end the season in rank 92 of Silver II. I didn't add anything special so I'm not sure where to attribute the improvement in performance. Maybe luck, I guess? My win vs loss ratio is rather high with eightive five wins against sixty five losses. I got a bit disappointed after last season's poor performance so this result is encouraging.
Rewards Earned

I earned a total of 20k Glints and 53 SPS during the season from ranked battles. My rewards improved a bit from last season's.
SPS Earned

Inspite of an increase in SPS earnings from ranked battles, my total SPS earned was down to 225 SPS. In previous seasons I was earning more than 250. While my staking and ranked rewards increased, brawl rewards decreased and was the main culprit in my reduced earnings. We earned less from brawls this season compared to previous as we ranked close to the bottom of the standings. It seems the competition is in our brawls is getting tougher.
Featured Battle

I wrote about Thornmaw Berserker in a previous post and now I'm using him as my main tank in the Death splinter. I had Thraghun in second position as I like using a two tank combo in my battles. Thraghun is a great second tank having two attacks of melee and ranged. With archon Razi Clanktrap's Close Range ability, he can attack with range from second position. In third, is another range unit, Deep Delver, who decreases the enemy's armor stat by two with his Rust ability. Next, I have a couple of magic units that also has support abilities of Swiftness and Corrupted Healing. In last is another range unit, Meriput Slinger that slows down his target with Impede ability.
My enemy had a higher level Ulund archon. I often see this strategy with Ulunds having the Moribund Arrowbait in front as a sacrifice unit to power up the rest of the Ulunds in his team. In second position ready to take tank duties is Silverblade Fighter. He's a decent tank with defense against magic attacks. He had three Ulundin units in his team to take advantage of the archon's bloodline dominion buff, Shield and be powered up by Arrowbait's sacrifice. I usually lose to teams like this so it's satisfying to get a win this time.
I was impressed by Thornmaw Berserker in this battle. He returned magic attacks with his Magic Reflect ability and dodged physical attacks with his superior speed. I ended the battle with my whole team intact against a higher level team.
