How Does One Know when HIVE Engine Swaps are Working?

I understand that there were some serious problems with the bridge used in cross chain swaps on Hive-Engine and that Hive-Engine temporarily suspended several of the swaps.

I am left wondering when HE will put the swaps back online. I have also wondered if there is a status page for the swaps?

I prefer to use the official swaps of Hive Engine. I've wondered if there were alternative swaps available on HIVE Engine or HIVE? blocktrades.us doesn't respond.

Swap Accounts

One way to check the status of swaps is to examine the swap accounts using a block explorer.

Honey-Swap

Honey-swap is the main swap between HIVE and HIVE-Engine. It is fun to parse this account as it shows how much hive is flowing to or from hive engine.

I suspect that one must examine transaction by transaction on the other side.

Conclusion

I would look up more. These are the only swaps I've used in the last few years.

It is worthwhile to examine the transaction accounts before performing a swap. I really wish that there was a status page to let us know when the bridge is down.

jbbasics stopped 10 years ago , psyberx.witness stopped 3 years ago , pfunk stopped 7 months ago and enginewitty stopped 2 months ago .

Most of the witnesses were still voting for 20% at the beginning of the year.

I couldn't find 30 witnesses that were voting for 10% or lower; so I had to upvote inactive witnesses.

It looks like more and more witnesses are waking up to the existential threat that HBD interest creates for the platform. Maybe they will realize that we shouldn't pay interest on HBD at all ... but I doubt that they will ever figure that out.

from what i've understand only the % of the top 20 counts in the end. but i do have my witness on 10% since November when i started being a witness .

I guess that is the problem with being a single issue voter. I stopped looking at the candidates and just at their position on my single issue.

Hopefully you will get in the top twenty.

BTW my opposition to the HBD interest is both practical and ideological. I had hoped that SteemIt/HIVE would be a platform for discussing monetary reform.

The Federal Reserve was designed in a way that allows rich banks to extract value from the community through a fractional reserve interest scheme. We foolishly added an interest scheme to HIVE.

I cannot, in good faith, direct people to platform to discuss reform. I hope that people realize that interest on the stable coin was a mistake.

What we've done so far is simply prove that crypto communities are apt to make the same mistakes as fiat currencies.
