The Phillies have won seven of ten games now and are really just humming along. The Phillies saw victory, and the Mets saw defeat. Pretty good day! LOL. Yeah since the Phillies struggled versus the Mets, the Phillies rebounded and the Mets have declined. The Phillies NL East lead is now back up at 7! That's a good looking number I'd say!

Jesús Luzardo had his best start since July as he went 6 2/3 innings, allowing zero runs! He improved his record to 13-6 and his ERA is now 4.01, slowly approaching sub four!

Harper hit his 24th homer, and Marsh and Bader continue to stay very productive in the center of the lineup. Also, the boys got it done while giving Trea Turner a rest day, pretty good stuff! It's good that Turner got some rest before the big series versus the Mets begins tomorrow.

It is likely that Taijuan Walker is starting the series finale today. I neglected to mention how the Phillies actually did sign a pitcher the other day in former ace Walker Buehler after the Red Sox released him. Buehler is not as great as he once was but he still has solid talent and offers great depth value at the very least. Buehler is a two-time All-Star and he placed 9th in Cy Young voting in 2019, and 4th in 2021. He also won two World Series Championships with the Dodgers in 2020 and last year, his playoff experience is awesome. Zack Wheeler is out for the season, Aaron Nola has been bad, and José Alvarado won't be available for the playoffs. Considering these circumstances, Buehler's arm could be useful indeed. Buehler has really struggled a lot himself, but it's unlikely he will be pushed immediately to play a big role. I think this could be a sneaky good signing for the Phillies and perhaps Buehler could turn it around knowing another Championship is possible. Buehler's first start in AAA Lehigh Valley went pretty poorly but hey, just let the guy find himself over this next month or so. Keep him around for emergencies, maybe the Phillies coaching staff can help him out.

MLB ratings likely won't be too great today since the NFL returns LOL. But it works out pretty good for me since the Phillies play at 1:40 and the Titans play at 4:05! Not too shabby, thank God!!

Also, go Reds! If all goes well today, the Phillies could have an 8 game lead in the NL east entering tomorrow's series!
