Rising Star Meme #83 - How Many Times to Do a Mission??

meme83.png

There's no 'short answer' for this question at all, but if you DO want one, here it is:

Do them 5 time/day

But that's just a dumb answer!
Like which mission?
or... What about the Ego?

Obviously...

You can't do each and every mission 5 times/day

So you'd have to strategize on this matter.

Your Ego gain increases per each run and that's not something desirable.
After repeating a certain mission 5 times on the same day, its rewards decreases. Not to mention the Ego gain becomes awful by the 5th time - it's far worse on the missions which are not in your latest unlocked Zone.

This decrease in rewards AND the increase in Ego compels the short vanilla answer to be a solid 5.

If you can maintain your 5th run on each and every short mission (up to 1-hour missions) and not run into any problems Ego-wise, you're on the right track and are doing great!

But There Are More Twists to It!!

Why do players seek more Fans?
To increase their MAX rewards.

The maximum rewards for a mission increase by +2 STARBITS for every 100 Fans gained. A mere +2 wouldn't impact a 3-hour mission's max rewards of 1000 all that much, but it is a significant increase in... say Illegal Busking's initial max rewards of 8 (right when you start)

In Short, Shorter Missions Benefit MUCH More From Fan increase!

And even at some point doing shorter missions on newer Zones (which got less base Ego at the start of the day) after the 5th or even 7th time on the same day becomes more profitable than going for the longer missions!

That's Why It's Good to Have Some GOOD Stack of Skills Ready to Burn!

Doing short missions on previous areas are also a great option (that's why opening areas to have access to more missions and variations is key). But DO keep in mind that the Ego progresses at an alarming rate on previous Zones, so it's a good idea to keep eye on that and stop when needed!

But then again, having more instruments to easily recover the lost Skills from High Ego gain is an amazing addition that enables you to go for more runs!

Personally, at best, I don't see myself going beyond the 5th run of Illegal Busking due to Ego - otherwise, I'd be spending infinite hours trying to recover my 'lost' Skills!

So, the long answer's TL;DR would be something like:
~4 to +6 runs on missions, depending on your Fan count, Ego recovery, and overall, the time you spend playing...

Hope that helped! And as always, do drop your questions down below!

Stay healthy and don't forget your Music Lessons!
Cheers~

I got few questions, i Just reached level 15 and got the ego, It goes down with music lessons, but whats the role of instruments in all of this? Also as i can understand the ego increase the more times you do missions, but if you have cards which increases skill, shouldnt It stay low? Or even skill of cards gets 'burned'? If so when It recovers?

Instruments increase the number of Skills you get from Music Lessons of that type.
For example: when you start out, doing a Basic Singing Lesson gives you 5-7 Skills, I think.
But if you have, like, 200 Luck from your Microphone instruments, it gives you 7-12 Skills (unlike mission rewards, the MIN skill gain also increases).
Each instrument increases the Skills gained from their corresponding Music Lesson.

Yes, Skills from cards like Rappers help maintain Ego at the beginning (That's what I did to avoid doing Music Lessons at first and concentrated on my missions and rewards!)

But from some point on, it's more efficient to do Music Lessons to get the Skills you 'burn' daily, instead of buying cards that have high skills from the market (you can save your STARBITS and use them more efficiently)

Also, I use the term "burning". But your Skills wouldn't go anywhere, really! The Ego you gain from missions stays and carries over forever. Ego negates Skills effects and since they stay forever, I use the term 'burning'. Once 'burned', your skills are gone for good!

So you or old players must have like milions of skills right? I mean if it never gets consumed but Just accumulates...yeah It doesnt really have much sense to Just buy cards for skills if It doesnt lower more the ego but works like lessons 🤔

Well, not me since I'm not that old, but yeah! Foxon and top rankers got millions of Skills and millions of Ego stacked!

As long as your Ego is at 0%, your rewards are unaffected. Rappers are needed for the Rap Battle mission in the 4th Zone (2 Rappers to be specific), but there's not much sense to stack other high-skill cards as you can get the skills through lessons.
However, these cards which have lots of skills can be handy if you suddenly jump up into Ego and wanna go back into normal... some temporary solution, y'know 😁
