The Daily Meme #253!

Here we are in the hive being social, and all, isn't that precious?

@lucylin is putting out his high production value videos.
@azircon continues to take exception with the rewards he would get.

This is the crab bucket in action.
It is the current iteration of the rules in the hive.

If you don't like Lucy bad mouthing dpos, then you should be flagging his videos, too.

Personally, I like that he has stuck to his guns, most people would have quit by now.
Others checked out without near the effort at getting redeemed by a community that supports free speech and not just speech they agree with.

This is an important distinction.
If you never vote on things you disagree with, well, isn't it obvious?
You do not support free speech, you support speech you agree with.

Nothing wrong with that.

Freedom isn't always fair, equitable, nor agreeable.
It is what it is.
On hive it reflects on the rewards you get.

Folks that support speech they agree with pay much better rewards than folks that support speech they don't agree with.
Very few users vote on content that makes them upset.

This is the current state of the hive, it is up to us to make it better, or worse.

We do that by each individual stakeholder seeking out content that needs more discussion and supporting it with comments, reblogs, and votes.

It is contingent upon each stakeholder to fulfill their duty to the collective by downvoting content that doesn't need to be as visible as what it is, or is clearly abusive of the others, or the pool.
This is a subjective evaluation.
Subject to individual prejudices.
If you don't like the rewards the content is getting, it is up to you to vote on it, up or down, up to you.

It is up to each individual stakeholder to help distribute the coins.
If you are voting on content that has more than 5htu already showing, is that concentrating, or distrubuting, the rewards?

You have to determine your cutoff point for yourself.

Now that curation rewards are linear, mostly, there is no incentive to stack votes.
You get no added benefit by voting a trending post over a post with zero rewards.

Voting is content agnostic in this regard.
Voting posts with more than 15htu on them is not supporting distribution as well as voting posts with less than that amount on them.
The more hands we get the coins into the better the chances that somebody will store their savings in hive.

We all, mostly, started with very little support for our content.
If all you vote is the already established accounts you are causing the hurdle for the newbs to be higher.
Did you like that as it played out for you, or do you want to vote on 'good' content with less rewards on them?

If we can get more folks storing their values in hive, the price will have an ever increasing level of support.

If you want the price to rise, or stay stable, then you can't be selling it, nor voting it to accounts that do sell it.
If you want better distribution, you don't get that by voting on trending posts.
(Unless it's a downvote.)

Hive will be what we, the collective, makes it.
Nothing more, nothing less.

Your votes are important in this aspect.

I hope your deliberations on what to vote takes these facets of the jewel that is the hive into account.

What they do is voluntary, but openly public.
Don't abuse their willingness to work for the collective for what little we give them, eh?
Without them, none of this exists.

I don’t care what Lucy does or doesn’t.

I don’t care what Phil does or doesn’t.

I don’t care what all their friends does or doesn’t.

Makes no difference to me.

As long as I have any stake I will make sure that they don’t get rewarded :)

Why? Because they are spammers.

No free money :)

That is the game we are playing.
I just wish it didn't have to be like that, for either of them.
You, too.
I'm sure you have other things you find more interesting than anti-abuse in the hive.
