The Daily Meme #264!

For those of you that weren't here for the n2, part of the design of chain that became the hive was that the control freaks chock blocked all trickle down routes.

The n2 assured that large accounts got more.
The silencer was quick to silence any dissent that reached its radar.
Which wasn't enough to silence dissent, just keep it off the commons.

Eventually, the n2 was voted off the island, and we got linear rewards and bidbots.
Of course the frogs weren't happy with this new king, either.
And, were soon asking for moar.

We got the convergent superlinear reward curve.
It had the effect to cut 90% of folk's rewards in half.

All hailed the new king!

Finally, enough people figured out that the top was screwing us yet again and that curve was voted off the island.
Now if you vote a post after 24 hours you pay the folks that voted it the first day with a portion of your curation rewards.
I really feel for any day 6 voters, they pay hardest.

All these hidden chock blocks to the trickling out of the inflation away from the center.
Which did make sense at the launch, but are now keeping us from reaching maximum distribution of the inflation.
When there was no guarantee that we would still be here 5 years later, I can see holding onto the baby and the bathwater, but the question of whether or not we will still be here in 5 moar years requires distribution, not maximization, iyam.

One of these chock blocks is that rewards that are flagged go back to the pool.
Part of the math says that the more rshares voted on a post, the bigger its share of the rewards pool, so any rewards taken from spam and plagairism goes first to the top post on trending and down from there, proportionally.

I propose that these rewards bee burned.
We could send them to the dao, but then this proposition might make it into the code and those folks have more than enough, iyam.

Burning rewards benefits all stakeholders equally.
Less hive, more value chasing the hive remaining.
In theory, anyway.

I've wondered about attack vectors to this as I recall some discussion of the topic very early on when I got here.
Seems to me that the top 100 accounts would be the only ones that could attack this and burn up all the hives, and lord knows expecting rational decision making from folks that got their hives for nearly nothing is kinda hit and miss, but I think those that bought in, and those that remain committed to the idea of abundance for all of us, could remedy any rogue elements as they have with the silencer, who no doubt is still here, just silenced.

If you are not one of the top 100 earning accounts, and would like more posting and curating rewards, burning the flagged rewards benefits you just as much as it does the top 100 accounts, proportionally.
They still benefit more, aggregately, but they don't get the leverage they currently have over the final destination of the hive.

If this idea appeals to you, start voicing your opinions.

If there is an attack vector to this that you are aware of please stop me before I drone on endlessly seeking my answers on this quest to see why flagged rewards can't be burned.

I realized while writing the 11/03 curation post that I wasn't putting how to purchase MEME tokens in the post. I went back and edited that into the 11/01 and 11/02 posts. I am getting better at promoting MemeHive.😁
