The Daily Meme #325!

avatar

I know we like to point the finger of blame, never in our own direction, but the fact remains that we are entering a more cooperative paradigm.

No longer will the authoritarian finger pointing help lead us to our own personal utopias.
When we profit at the expense of others it will come back to haunt us as the transition to the new age progresses.

We are riding on a pendulum that has just reversed course.
It is slowly picking up speed on its return to a less harsh existence.

As things are now, you bow down to a master, or you live under a bridge.
Most people support this paradigm.
'Get a haircut, hippie!
Get a real job, too.'

I used to buy into that paradigm, myself.
Not so much now that I have had time to read ideas that suggest a better way and reflect on how those ideas impact on the reality around me.

We can do better, we just have to cooperate to get there.

Nice meme, for sure many people don't accept their faults. They blame others or justify themselves As per hive, you are right there,if we all come today, and supporting another, hive is a haven to be. b

Now, in which way exactly the two of us can cooperate?

I feel it's not enough to upvote one another and be friendly. Which, of course, is nice and I like it to talk to you.

I've had a few attempts to work with some of the people I've met here, and I guess I'll have to be patient not to think that working together as an unknown two-person team is rather unattractive. What can you and I do together? For example, I've asked artists if they could imagine working on a joint publication, such as setting to music or illustrating a story of mine that I think is very strong among the many postings of mine. There are not very many gems that I find on my own blog, but I would like to make something more out of a few.

Collaboration, it's used gladly and a lot, but then when you really want to get to work, you find that virtual acquaintances have their pitfalls. You live in different time zones, appointments are difficult to make and really committing yourself is very slow. Doubts arise about whether you are really talented enough or even have enough knowledge to see a project through to the end.

I partly call myself an artist and would like to work with other artists, but I haven't found anyone on Hive who would seriously want to do that with me (only "un-seriously", which may also be my responsibility, too, I don't know).

Do you make the memes yourself?
Here's an old post of mine that I think you'd like.
https://hive.blog/humor/@erh.germany/group-dynamics

What would you do with it if you turned it into a meme?

Do you make the memes yourself?

Yes, if it is not mine, I source it.

This is the problem we are confronting.

In order to change the world, we must first change ourselves.
This is what the people keep saying to me, now if I could just find the changes necessary to making me king, so I could tell everybody to go about their day as they see fit, that would be great.
So far, no luck.

I think the best thing I can do is to continue to point out to anybody that will listen that ruling others with violence is not ideal to building utopias.
It's been an uphill climb for the last 20+ years, but things are looking better.
At least the people are finally seeing that the old way is not working as well as advertised.

I was more referring to this sentence of yours

We can do better, we just have to cooperate to get there.

Who is this "we"? Cooperation for me also includes working together. Easiest is to start with two people, I think. From there, all kinds of things can happen. That's why I was asking you directly: "What can the two of us work on?"

As far as I am concerned I am not working against anybody here on hive. Just leave some comments here and there, which might be seen differently when it includes critizism.

As for the rest of what you said, I agree with it and with the video.

The we refers to all those that seek to improve things.
I'm not sure what we, specifically, you and me, could do to improve things.
I'm at an edge space, I don't really have my set up set up well enough to try to predict what I can do tomorrow, but I am open to suggestions.

hm ... I actually am not so focused on improving... (whatever that might be) but more on making a place for me an inspiring sphere to be. The improvement then becomes a byproduct.

For instance, people invent games and then find others who can program them and again someone who might be a good designer and artist etc. This forms of cooperation have the power to improve a space on the whole. It always starts with one person, then becoming a team etc.

I remember a woman back in the Steemit days who gathered a huge community around her, I think her name was surfer-marley or something. They did real stuff in the real world together. Just an example.
I have no such ambitions with a community. I work as a writer and sometimes I am crafting, doing arts and inventing games myself.

I have no idea what the two of us could do. This would require that you like my work. So I gave you an example of it, which I personally liked (the link above). If nothing triggers you, that's alright. We have had our good conversations and probably will have some more in the future.

:)

The road to civilization is built on cooperation, not competition as the world tells us. It's a simple formula imho and much time and effort is expended in complicating things beyond comprehension.

McAfee_principles.jpg

Unfortunately, Uncle Sam is unable to live by ANY of those principles and so thwarts humanity's movement to a more civilized state.

Rule by force is the disease, who and how are symptoms.

As long as 'the majority' accepts that these people get to use violence to control those people because reasons, we can expect a varying degree of enslavement contingent on how well we beat the bullies to back off of us.

People that kill to stay in power don't accept peaceful transitions to new holders of that power.
