The Daily Meme #824!

When trying to launch a collaborative endeavor it helps to actually collaborate with the others.

I know that may sound counter-intuitive to the 'my way or the highway' crew, but the facts are, if you wish to have support from a crowd that you rely upon for the success of your endeavor, you should probably consult that crowd on things that impact their continued service in making your endeavor a success.

Do we do that in the hive?
No.
We don't.

What has happened now?

Read this post.

It explains how IF the top accounts voted all their power, nobody would get anything from the pool, except them.

But, how many accounts is that?
One could do it, but any number combined of the top ten could also easily do it.
Currently the top 20 take 50% of the pool, day after day, year after year, since at least the fork to hive.
They could have been taking it all, but even they know the few that stick around now would leave, too.
There would be no other reason to be here.
The current other reason is the friends we've made, but if rewards weren't a thing we wouldn't have known the success that we have.
Why deny it?

Granted, 'they' started burning it when even they couldn't deny that their concentration of stake was an issue that isn't going away.
This concentration is why anybody that can math doesn't buy into hive.

I'm supposed to buy into an ecosystem where most of the inflation goes to a handful of accounts and I get less because I could never buy enough to be an equal?
How about, NO?

Not interested when I can buy xrp and ride a rising price up.
I know at least one very active user that bought bnb for .25usd and hasn't posted to her account in years.
Her discord is still active, though.
I even saw her ridiculed by one of the insiders the other day.

Why would I buy hive when I can buy xmr and not have all the headaches of maintaining an active hive account while riding an actually increasing price?

'No thanks, I was out at having to learn how the keys work.'

So, what has you posting today, anti?

Well, the power that is has decided that they want access to moar.
They need moar!!

As things are now, and won't be after the fork, is that the bottom 50% of everybody's voting mana is pretty much left unaccessed.
Nobody votes the 80 posts it would take to go from 50% mana to 10% mana.

What does that mean?
It means that stake that was idle will become active after the fork.
The already have too much's will be getting even moar!!
All hail the powers that be!

How that will shake out exactly in the math will have to be seen as it plays out in real time.

The folks taking all they can now will get access to 50% moar! after the fork.

Now, they will only be able to do it once.
They will then have to wait for their mana to rebuild to do it again on any given day, but a botnet could wreak havoc for that day.
We will know the greediest amongst us by their vote mana levels.

All this just so that 'curators' can come in once a week, vote all their mana and not have to deal with playing this 'stupid' game every day?

Anybody that is here for more than the money doesn't need this change.

Why do we care about what whales do?

Did you read the post?
When whales vote, EVERYBODY else's vote goes down in value.

IF enough users vote that extra 50%, everybody else will get less and many more will get nothing.
The least powerful among us will get pushed out of the pool, entirely.

Welcome aboard, newbs!
Your vote/post has no value because the top needed even moar!!

Oh, and let's add that the way this voting plays out is that your vote just stops.
You won't be able to vote anymore until your mana builds back up.
Currently, your vote tapers off in value as you vote and never really goes below 50%, the new way will be for your vote to maintain parity in value until it clicks off.
You will have to watch your mana for yourself.
A decreasing vote will no longer signal you about your activity.

Try explaining that to the newbs.
'Oh, yeah, your vote has no value because 'the whales' sucked up everything the community made available for you.'
Sorry 'bout your luck, buy more hive!

Why can't I vote, anymore?
Learn about the mana, newb.

So, dear reader, for those of you that were here for the poor tax, those same folks brought us this fork, too.
Is it any surprise that the changes benefit the few at the expense of us all, again?

Are you are tired of paying your masters to bomb children in far away places?
Perhaps it is time you pushed back on that.
A simple way that anybody can do that is to hoard your coins.
The fed buys coins at face value from the mint.
A dollar of change in your pocket is a dollar of value out of the banksters' pockets.
Stop playing in their shell game that allows them to play in the amusement parks from hell and shop in the human grocery stores.

Take the chapter 9 challenge?

Simply debunk the math.

What I question is, who and why decided this change? It's a decentralized chain, no owner so why a few decided that and made it fall on everyone head? It's centralized then

Welcome to the fact pattern that got stinc, et al, exiled.
This is the way it's always been, as retention demonstrates.
