Recurring Expenses | Unskippable Things

I was going through my phone when i came across this question @hivenaija on Recurring expenses you can not do without. Happy new year and God bless the organizer and supporter hivenaija community for the weekly great work.

Even as there's high rate of inflation in my country (Nigeria), which makes money to loses it's value. It's called devaluation of money and causes prices of good and services to increases but that didn't stop people from spending money. However, when it comes to spending money, I strongly find it difficult to spend anyhow, because I'm more of saving than spending.

While growing up, people do called me Ijebu Boy. It's a phrase usually used by Yoruba people to describe someone as a stingy person. However, I know I'm not stingy, but saving money a lot is a kind of goal that I always set for myself, which I always try my best to achieve in one way or the other.

However, there are some recurring expenses which comes inform of goods that I can't do without spending on it frequently. Either on a daily basis, weekly, monthly and yearly.

Food is one thing that I love most, and something that I can't do without consuming it, on a daily basis. I do cook a lot because I'm not a fan of eating outside. I feel happy whenever I eat good food and food is a basic need.
To avoid overspending that can be caused by food, I avoid eating junk food and also make sure I brought my foodstuff in bulks. By doing this, I can get my food at a cheaper rate or wholesale price.

Another thing that I can't do without is Data. I usually have a monthly subscription of 20gb on my MTN line, something twice a month. The reason for this, is that it's me and my partner that make use of it, and we're both into online business.

Also I do play online games with my phone, Like DREAM LEAGUE SOCCER (dls), and PUBG mobile. I wish to start playing game on Hiveblog soon because I love playing games a lot. Even as they're part of my recurring expenses, I still try to avoid unnecessary spending that might occurred through buying of data by reducing the rate at which I engage in these various activities that can consumed my data.

The last thing that I can't do without is watching Movies. I don't make use of Netflix, but I do subscribe to Gotv. For the Gotv subscription, I usually go for the cheaper rate like Gotv ginger, which is at the rate of #2700 and I also have different movie apps like hitv, YouTube and HDO box, where I used to watch movies as well.

Watching movies is something I can't do without to avoid boredom, but I find means to minimize it to avoid unnecessary spending.
