Unplanned Holiday Season | Caused By Procrastination

As we all know, Holidays season is a season of family togetherness and thanksgiving. I so much love holiday, so as the holidays season was approaches, I and my wife plan was to travel from Asaba, Delta State down to Ogun State, where our family are and had a big family Thanksgiving With her family and my family.

After all the preparation, getting everything we needed, and also applying some rules that can helps us to avoid overspending into consideration such as getting all the gift, food and things needed at cheaper rate by visiting Shop-rite and some other local store which are selling at cheaper rate around me. I also have my spending limit, and list of important things that I want to buy with me to avoid shopping on a spree but something unexpected still comes up which I will love to share with us.

Our plans was to travel at least like one week before Christmas but due to some unnecessary things, we have to shift it forward, we kept on procrastinating, even when we know what to do. we procrastinated our travel till the day before Christmas not even remembering the consequences that could happen.

When the Christmas Eve day that we suggested to travel now arrives, we wake up very early in the morning, so that we can catch up with the early bus. I thank God that this time around I didn't procrastinate. However, we got to the motor park as early as possible but something unexpected happened and I had to go back home to avoid my bank account for suffering the consequences or if I traveled i may end up not coming back to Asaba on time and may cause my wife to lose her job.

Due to the festive season and increment in fuel price, the transportation price from Asaba to Ogun State has increased in such a way that I can say it is now twice the previous prices that I planned for.

The moment I heard this, I feel so guilt, unhappy and worried. that I just had to go back home with the courage that however, I might not have the chance to spend the holidays season the way I want it by having all our family around us but I have one family with me. My wife is also my family which I had around me, holding on to this, make me to overcome the effects of Procrastination so easily.

There are a lot of things which procrastination has causes in the life of people such as, worse performance, laziness, stress, inability to achieved their goal, loneliness and reduced well-being. Procrastination can also lead to some other mental and physical health issues.

However, this unexpected thing that happened to me still has a long impact in me and I'll always put it into consideration and learnt from it, that Procrastination is something I needed to avoid in all aspects of my life.

Thanks for your time on my blog!.

Choosing to travel on Christmas eve here in Nigeria is like shooting oneself in the foot because you may end up spending more than twice the original amount of transport fare. You took a wise decision to leave the journey for another suitable time. I came in from #dreemport.

In Nigeria you have to prepare yourself very well if you want to travel during the festive season, the transportation fee can make someone go bankrupt, the way they charge is too alarming and our government is not helpful at all, everything keeps on increasing every day. #dreemerforlife
