Going for an industrial cleaning work // My Actifit Report Card: January 10 2024

Hello my dear friends in the @actifit community, how are you doing today? I sincerely welcome you to the 11 day of January 2024. Am going to be sharing with you, my report card for 10th January, I hope you will be happy to read my report.

Very early Wednesday morning, I woke up around 5:55 a.m. and got myself ready for work. The previous day, a friend of mine called me to ask if I would be free the next day so that I could come and assist them concerning industrial cleaning 🧹🧹. So the next morning, I prepared and went to the location she asked me to wait for them. My intention of going was not the money because I know that the person in charge of the work, may not be able to pay me for my job, so I decided to go because I took it as part of exercise 🤣🤣.

When I got to the location, I waited for more than an hour before they came and she began to plead for the delay.

When we got to the place for the work, it was a new house and it needed to be cleaned before people could start living in it. The person in charge of the work was a lady, so she came and asked us to go and get some tools and start working. The apartment I entered was very dirty, the builder where very rough to the extent of splashing cement on the door. When I saw it, I was like "What the hell is this?" So I started packing something outside. There is a way I work anywhere I go, I don't work just for the money, so I do whatever I am doing as if is my work. I bring out my mind to making the work look very perfect. A few minutes later, I went out to check on how the other workers were working, and I discovered that most of the jobs were not clean enough, they were doing it quickly so that they can be able to finish on time. I began to wonder if they knew what they were doing because if I were to supervise that work, many of them would go back and rework many places that they did not clear up.

On my way back, I asked one of them, is this how you work here? She replied to me saying "My dear, we just need to do it fast fast, and live here." 🤔🤔 I was speechless and I went back to work. I wanted to imitate them, but my conscience kept telling me, "If you are to live in this apartment, will you clean it anyhow?" So I decided to take it easy as I cleaned the room.

A few hours later, after we had closed for the day, the lady who got the contract to clean the house came And started checking the work. She checked the work of some people but when she got to the apartments where I was working, she started shouting 😡😡. She said, "Is that where you have been working all this while when your mate has gone far?" At this point I now knew that she didn't know much about the industrial cleaning work, she was still a novice. To me as a professional, I know what it took me to clean the area I have covered so far. I never wanted to tell her who I was, so I took her to carefully check my work so far and compare it with the job done by other individuals. So she started screaming and saying all kinds of things 🤔🤔. It was at that point I knew that she was not working on quality, it was quantity she was concerned about. So I called my friend who was my apprentice in the industrial cleaning section, she was the person who called me because she is a contract worker with the woman too. So I told her to go and tell the lady about my working experience and who I am to herself.

A few minutes later, my friend and the rest workers came to me and pleaded with me to come tomorrow for the final work, so I told them that they shouldn't worry because I couldn't that the kind of work that the lady expected, so am not gonna come back the next day. So I went to the lady and appreciated her and told her that I was not going to be coming tomorrow, that she should give me the pay for today's work. She was surprised by the way I responded to her because while she was shouting, inside me I was just smiling. After all, I knew that she didn't know my value. She asked me why am I not coming, so I told her that the pattern of the work, I couldn't fit in because it was not the standard and I couldn't involve myself in what I knew was not right.

This was how I spent my day, when I got home I was like, thank God for the wisdom that I used in following that lady, because if it were to be some people, they going to shout at her in return and they would start quarreling.
