Earning expectations

We all know that type of person that likes to complain about stuff on Hive: that it's hard to get upvotes, that people are making bank with bland posts, that comments don't get enough upvotes, etc. Admittedly they are not as common as they used to be back in the day where there were a lot of new users but that just means Hive is not getting a ton of new users, which is far from ideal on a social media blockchain. But like the Hive fundamentalists will quickly point out: Hive is not just about the social media side of things. Which is true, though that killer dapp that will make the blockchain great again has yet to arrive so Hive is still mainly about hanging around with your internet friends while trying to make some magic internet money.

Now I don't want to be like the person in the meme, that likes to complain about stuff, however scraping by and not really earning much can get any buffoon down, especially if I am pressed for time and there are better ways I could be spending that time instead of wasting hours on the endless search for new meme templates and meme ideas . You would think that after posting almost regularly for 2 years now it would guarantee success, but I don't call my self an idiot for nothing. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, maybe I should be socializing on discord with the right people ( although I'm not the best at brown-nosing ) or there's some mysterious blockchain ritual that I should perform. Or maybe the whales really like to be super serious around here and only the plebs are up for a good laugh. Most likely this old clown is not always as funny as he would like but at least I always give it my best even if that "best" is not always up there.

Come to think of it, I haven't bitch and moaned about stuff for a good long time so it was bound to happen sooner or later.

In other news I started a power down so I could shift a few hundred Hive to my other account because it will be better used there since curation is more efficient when done automatically. It's better be transparent about this kind of stuff otherwise antisocialist will call me a traitor to the blockchain and have me sent to crypto gulag :P

From my experience at least, having an account being part of a curation trail is the way to go when it comes to optimizing curation rewards, doing things manually is more fun but if you only have a few thousand Hive on the curation account like I do it's not gonna make anybody's day significantly better by giving them a manual 100% upvote. When I'll have way more voting power I'll do more manual curating so I can encourage the struggling plebs to keep going.

May the grind be with you !

Silly pleb. You need to up your jerking game. Or hang out in discord more. Or find a proper niche with curation power. Or buy some bro, they usually upvote holders.

You need to up your jerking game

circle jerking or just normal jerking ? :P thanks for the tips though :) I wish bro wasn't so expensive. Speaking of buying, everything I bought with Hive turned out to be rather crap, for example utopis

Other than voting on the first day there is no curation optimization.
I guess a whale could be voting posts after several days, that would help your curation.
But as long as you vote in the first 24 hours, and a whale doesn't vote the same post after 24 hours, there is no 'doing better'.

If you really want to up your curation rewards, start pushing back on the top 20 accounts taking 50% of what is available.

If you want more upvotes it helps to be friendly and comment on the posts of others.
Otherwise nobody knows you are here, they are all focused on what they are doing.
Building echo chamber cliques seems to be the rage today.

Now, back to what you were doing, clown!

it's a bit hard to explain what I mean by optimization, but basically I use this account to "vote spam" because ecency points. My other account only votes at 80% voting power, so those couple of hundred Hive are better utilized if that makes sense.
When it comes to commenting I try to comment every day and interact with people I like but I don't go out of my way to make that happen.

People love those ecency points.

'Good' content would help.
As likely would disassociating with me.
Some rich people like to control their friends.
It's been a while since anybody told me about it, but those specified people are still here.

Nothing more users wouldn't solve.

Nah I would never disassociate with fellow meme enjoyers, that's my whole thing here :)
