Meme Coin Summer Portfolio Week 2 | Beginners Luck !

I finally flipped a switch after being someone who cares about fundamentals in crypto and started to get into Meme Coins with a small % of my Overall portfolio trying to play this game and see how it goes. These are weekly update posts in what I believe could be a Meme Coin Summer...

Addictive Fun & Beginners Luck!

After a couple weeks in the Meme Coin space, I can pretty much say that this feels gambling on crack and cocaine! If crypto bull markets make you check your phone every couple of hours, these meme coins make you check it every 5 minutes as the volatility is just crazy. All this makes it extremely addictive and fun. Even more now I can see a lot of non-crypto people who missed out on BTC come in pushing prices a lot higher. They get into crypto with a midset where Bitcoin is still a ponzi and the idea to get out making profit back in Fiat which is exactly what meme coins are but with actually a chance to hit it big in no time with very little money needed.

I'm still very much learning but I did manage to hit it quite big (beginners luck I guess) helping me to increase my overall budget to buy other memes. I came across this hilarious video about a week ago...

The USUG ( U Sell U GAY) coin narrative had me on the floor so I went to look it up on Dexscreener seeing it only had a 170k Marketcap and I instantly took a gamble buying 1M coins.

Soon after I checked seeing there were multiple of these USUG coins and I assumed that I had just bough a random one not knowing it was the real USUG. It turned out it was and the narrative over the week started to pick up pushing the price up. I did take an initial 200k USUG profit for 0.77 SOL, the day after I took another 200k USUG profit for 1.28 SOL, The price both crashed and afterward pumped higher with 2 more times I took profit each 100k USUG for 0.85 SOL and 1.52 SOL. Right now the price has come down again but I keep holding onto the 400k I have left with an eye to take some more profit in case it reaches a 10M Market cap.

I did end up buying some other coins with it, also taking some funds out of memecoins using 1.5 SOL to buy 2 more DefiBookie NFTs which made my GambleFi Portfolio a tiny bit bigger. I still have some spare SOL in my wallet now for new purchases keeping things going.

Hitting a winner like this so early on in my Journey makes me feel like it's the most normal thing in the world and it also makes me more willing to gamble on ultra low marketcap coins.

BODEN & TREMP also continued to go up with charts that look quite good. I wanted to add some on the big dips they had but slept on it and when waking up, they already had pumped again. I easily can see them go higher from here and have no intentions to sell or take profit. Both day after day are in the list of coins with most volume which is a really good sign and they are also just really funny still.

WIF continues to be the dominant Meme coin on Solana and I took some profit on part of the MEW I seemed to have gotten airdropped in my wallet adding 20 WIF to my bag now holding 120 with no intention whatsoever to sell. If anything I will try to add more along the way in case there is a dip or if I would get another lucky break on another one.

I still very much like this narrative that the new album release of Taylor Swift later this month might cause Benji (Taylor Swift's Cat) to pump along with the fact that there are an insane number of Swifies in the world who could be potential buyers in case they get into crypto. However price has been in a downtrend and I continued cost average more. Right now it's only at a 1.8M market cap and close to a bottom price range where it held support. It remains a total gamble though and I'm willing to lose it all. Compared to last week, the price went down with 50% or so.

I also reallocated some of the profit in buying some more PENG which went down in value this week. It looks like one of those coins with a strong community and they are also a Solana Validator if I'm not mistaken. At the same time, I'm not looking to add more and might sell the entire position in case it would pump.

GTOP & TOPG are the Andrew Tate Meme coins. Originally it was GTOP (Andew mate) which I found really funny visiting the site but it has been taken over I guess by GTOP (Andwu Tet). The moment I saw this TOPG was at 25k market cap and I was tempted to pick some up but at the same time hesitated as I originally has some GTOP and was going to buy more if it wasn't for this takeover. Things like this make these meme coins extremely risky. It wasn't after TOPG had somewhat of a pump that I could not resist getting a little bit. I would not be surprised to see both go fully down but at the same time I also would not be surprised if at some point there was another crazy pump & dump.

I did get an airdrop of 44444 MEW which I had no clue what it was (I still don't really), at that time it was worth 80$+ which felt like a lot and I could not imagine everyone who got this drop just dumping it. So many times in the past I held onto airdrops just to see them lose value. Just in case though I kept 8000+ MEW and looking at it afterward I should have kept it all as it pumped x4. This coins feels very much like Book Of Meme which isn't remotely funny or anything but it's trading with very high liquidity and also got listings on centralized exchanges. I assume it's some kind of Asian thing. Today I topped up my MEW to a holding of 10k and I might add a bit more even if it dumps further. None of it makes any sense to the point that this field bound to get a market cap of Billions.

I also bought some VCAT mainly because the chart looked favorable in a big pump with a dump and sideways action higher compared to where it was before. It's also cat season so everything with cats seems to be doing well.

BASE Chain Meme Coins

I don't want to put everything on Solana so I also got some coins on the 2nd most hype chain for this sector which is Base. I can't say that I'm as sold on it and for now I'm just there to try it out after I also got into AERODROME a while back. I know base also has a 3rd layer to Ethereum with Degen Chain which for me is just a step too far at least at the moment.

One of the possible narratives of this cycle is the Pepe storyline where he on ETH does well along with his friends (Brett, Mumu, Anydy). Based BRETT seems to be the dominant meme coin on the Base chain and I have been eyeing to get a bit since it was around a 400M market cap. Now at around 700M I bough a tiny bit just to have some and might increase the position in case the price dips. The one I did get most into on the base chain is ROOST which is new with what looks like a big community and proper management as it already is listing on some centralized exchanges. There was a 12M pre-sale while the price initially pumped to 180 Million. There was some profit taking dumping it all the way back down to 40M followed by another pump and dump. I assume it's a matter of time before those who want to sell are done for the price to possible be able to go up. Another one I picked up is MOCHI which is a cute cat coin named after the Coinbase CEO Cat. It is 4+ Months old and just has a really nice looking chart with higher highs and higher lows while it's still below 50M Market cap. These are the main reasons I picked some up.

I pretty much continue to play the game with the funds that I have in the ecosystem without much intention to deposit and add more. Instead when possible I would continue to take some profit along the way. I fully realise this is all highly volatile and I'm willing to lose it all if that would happen.

Conclusion

I'm having a lot of fun with these Meme Coins and so far I have gotten extremely lucky. 7 Days in this space feels like a year in Crypto and a Decade in stocks so everything could look completely different next week both on the good or the bad side. Please don't take anything what I buy as advice as I still have no clue what I'm doing. I will be back with another report in 7 days!
