The craft beer reminds me of the certain crowd that does or follows the Indian Pale Ale (IPA) drinks in the UK. Maybe not hippie like those depicted in your meme, but more nerdy looking and I always found it very strange like a cult following.

Every now and then I will meet someone that absolutely raves about a particular craft beer, almost like they have been paid to be a part of its launch. I'll go and try it and almost always i have an "well, it's alright I guess" sort of reaction to it. I guess I am just not the correct target audience.
