Be like me and have peace of mind

Early on Saturday morning, I was called to work, so I hurriedly left before everyone in the compound woke up, and my friends in the compound were not surprised because that's how I pull up most times.

The work lasted till around 5:00 p.m., and that was when I decided to check the football news to see scores of Premier League matches. I wasn't bothered by the scores because I don't play bets and also because I don't support any of those clubs as others do.
I closed the tab and left for home. On getting to my house, I met Nelson, my neighbour, with his face squeezed like humid weather about to release a thunderstorm.
"Good afternoon, guy, what's happening?" I greeted him as I got closer to him.

He hissed, "Please, guy, I'll see you later; I'm not in a good mood," and he walked away to his room.

I began to wonder what could be the reason for his reaction. "It seems his fiance has broken up with him," I concluded, worried less, and walked away. Why did he enter into a relationship when he didn't have the heart for it?
I got to my house and entered the bathroom straight away. I was still inside when I heard a knock on the door. "Who's there?"

"It's me, Nelson," He answered as I heard my door being opened. He entered inside.
After I was done, I met him lying pitifully on the bed.

I cleared throat, "guy, what did you say happened to you?"
He hissed, hissed, hissed again, and angrily said, "Is it not Man U again? Who's Crystal Palace that they cannot win... in their home?" He hissed again.

"Hahahahahahaha!" I laughed aloud.

"Oboy! It's Man U that uttered your mood like that? As in, Man U?" I jokingly asked in the midst of laughter.

My friend Nelson is a committed and dedicated Man U fan; he wears his Man U jersey on the days they have football, and he makes a lot of noise about this football club, but this season has not been the same for him.
I was still in the midst of laughter when he hissed, hissed again, and began to lament, "The worst thing is that I staked them to win on my bet; Crystal Palace is not a match for Man U. I don't just know what's happening!"

Oh! I could feel his pain. He thought that because Man U is playing at home and it's 'baby' Crystal Palace, they could beat them blue and black. Eyaaaah! I felt pity for him.

On a very good note, why do people like to depress themselves unnecessarily? I know football is good and the spirit of sportsmanship is always alive, but must you support football clubs that trade your joy with sorrow? Why can't you be like me? Get a not-known club and support it. You could travel down to Botswana, search for any football club in the country, and support them and be at peace. If you win, good; if you lose, no one will know. It's as simple as that.

Should I talk about Chelsea? I heard that a group of guys are embarking on a 21-day fast and prayer to seek God's intervention in order for Chelsea to escape relegation this season because the way they're failing like a crashed helicopter descending to the ground is scary.

I have a lot of guys on my WhatsApp contact list who lament with heartbreak emojis whenever Chelsea loses a match. May God help them. Amen.
