Little fatties & Actifit July 28 2023

Some people say that they can replace or are even better than meat. I am not convinced, true that they are really fat meaty mushrooms, but I'm not that big of a fan. To me they're just some fat mushrooms that even become a bit slimy when you start cooking them. I can't argue that they don't look good though, in RL and in pictures as well. Best thing is they can be free if you want to put in the effort to go out into the woods to look for them.

Last one is just a bonus picture, I liked their color.

Can you tell what is edible and what is poisonous?
That would be my only concern about picking them up in the wild… I don't trust myself😳🙄😇

It's much easier than you think(at least in my mind), pick only those that you know well, it's really really hard to go wrong this way. If you see a nice looking mushroom that you know nothing about, don't touch it, leave it alone.

This are Penny Bun or Porcini Mushrooms.

The only mushroom that I can clearly identify is a Morel...... Our neighbor picked some false Morels this spring, and discovered that some people get ill from these!
She gave them away to another neighbor that will tell you she has no problem with false Morels.....😀

Internet says that morels are generally safe to eat as long as they have been cooked thoroughly. However, eating raw morels can cause gastric upset.

First time I see them.

Do you have Morels in your country? A while back I looked these up, and Walmart sells these dehydrated online, I think they were going for $90 a pound!😀

Just found someone selling them here online, frozen fresh morel about $10 for a US pound. 🙄 Dried ones probably a total different story.

They last picture remind me of Oyster 'shrooms, but the color isn't right for that. I guess there could be another variety of them.

I just love 'shroom pics! Nice selection! Thanks for sharing!
