Just some common things, this type of fail (and many other types) happens so often that almost nobody is giving them much importance, it's just something that you get used to.
So, on the subject of the day, what do we do with all the water after it rains? The answer is nothing, just wait for the sun to come out and the water will evaporate on its own. Who needs proper drainage when free water is such a necessity... :))
