Stone walls & Actifit June 20 2024

Stone walls taken to another level, these types of walls seem to be in trend lately, not sure why so many people like them, if it's just for the looks or simply that they are something different than the rest. Also, I have no idea about how easy it would be to do maintenance on them, maybe pressure wash them or just leave moss and other plants to grow on them...
Yeah, walls for fences I've seen many, but in one of the images, they did take it to another level. I think that's some kind of shed or storage building built entirely of stone walls. :)

Interesting…..I do like stonework. There’s a place not too far from us that built a decorative stone wall and put a portal in the middle of it. It was pretty cool.

Excellent job with you 12315 @actifit steps! Take care and enjoy the rest of your Friday!

Sometimes I imagine how they were able to arrange the stones to make it look straight like this

Impressive stonework, I wonder how this is stabilized, structurally?

They use Gabions for the structure and then fill them with stone. I supplied a mine with these steel structures years ago and their perimeter fence is 5 high stacked on top of each other. Seriously strong and they will last forever as this is galvanized steel.

Hehe, it wouldn't surprise me to see these in a mine, but you don't get to see every day this template being used for home garden walls or even sheds. :))

I agree. I am looking at something similar for my front garden wall combining this as a retaining wall this plus boundary wall. The beauty about this is once you have the foundation sorted this is so quick to erect and can be completed in days compared to building an entire wall taking weeks.

I imagine it could be done faster than the "traditional" ways, but still, some patience is required to get the right stones with the right shapes in place so they can cling to each other.
