Tiny houses & Actifit July 10 2024
A couple of tiny houses copying the traditional style of some old houses in our area. I give him that, the man building them has the patience and overall the houses look good, but he is missing the finesse and attention to detail. Maybe most people in general won't even notice it or care that much to pick on it, but for me, that's the first thing that popped, the joining between the tiny parts that make the frames for windows/doors and the top frame look like they've been done using a real life axe on some minuscule pieces of wood.

Hmmm.... I see what you were talking about.
Still I give them an "A" for effort, so many fine details😇😀
He has them up for sale... so maybe a minus D for effort from me. :)))
👍....Maybe better next try at building...😇
They are nice and probably extremely time consuming not matter how you measure it! I've built similar in the past using archetechural foam board and leaves, sticks and grass for siding, roofing and window frames. Clear plastic contact paper illuminated from the inside made them seem like old time glass. I haven't done that in a long time, but your post brought the memory back.
Thanks for sharing! Excellent job with your11361 @actifit steps for the day. Take care!
It takes time indeed. What were your builts for? Do you have any photos? Made me curious. :)
We belonged to the Greater Cincinnati Garden Railway Society when we lived back in Ohio. We were so into trains that we actually had a model train store for a time period! This club would go to the Krohn Conservatory, which housed plant areas in a very tall greenhouse type structure from a rainforest wing, to a desert wing and so on. During Christmas, it was famous for the Poinsettia Room, which as you might guess, was decked out in all sorts of potted poinsettias. We would build the buildings in scale of 1/2" = 1' to keep in line with the G scale trains that were run in conjunction with this. We would go out into the woods around the conservatory and gather natural grasses and leaves and whatnot, to use as the coverings on the foam board. It got me interested in doing the same thing as I really enjoyed building them. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics.
This link should take you to a picture. The church shown there is more like what we did back in the day when this was a young endeavor. I think this picture is recent, but you get the idea. Mine were never this grand; more like cottages with thatched roofs and whatnot.
Sorry for the book, but it's the only way I could explain it. Take care!
Cool, like building a mini world :))
