Even to this day, for hundreds of years, some people still prefer to live differently. Whether they don't have other options might be questionable; maybe they just want to live their own way, or perhaps their level of education limits their thinking on what could be done differently. Anyway, any roma/gypsy kids that you see anywhere always look much happier than any other random child.

Perhaps their happiness is due to family togetherness? Maybe too, it's because it would appear, at least from your pictures, that they live a simpler life. Less tech; less stress? Sometimes I wonder if we might all be better off without it (although I do love my tech).

They are everywhere in Eastern Europe especially, but I think that Romania has the highest numbers.
