Update on Continued Retaliation

Harassment Continues

The saga of retaliation, harassment, and payment discrepancies persists in my ongoing workplace challenges. Recently, Nov 15th during the third job assignment, I faced further issues with signing in while my name was absent from the sheets. This prompted me to question whether I had been canceled, only to discover a potential error where the union failed to cancel me despite a dispatch confirmation email.

Upon seeking clarification from the steward Al, it became evident that I was indeed canceled, but Noah, the responsible party, allowed me to continue working as there was budget and necessary tasks to complete. Despite finishing the work, I informed Al that I would not be returning due to the cancellation Noah confirmed. (my pride prevents me from making a scene to beg for work)

Mentally grappling with this situation, I declined assistance from another union member, who offered to refer work my way, stemmed from my paranoia about potential further harassment. I explained my reluctance, citing my recent termination for lacking specific skill card and my unwillingness to subject him to similar workplace challenges.

When discussing the matter with Todd the business agent (BA) on the phone (he called for the first time Nov 13th, the same day FreemanAV was first notified of the payment discrepency), he denied any retaliation while simultaneously enforcing measures that required me to apply online and obtain three references for each skill card I wanted to work under. I reminded him of the previous instances of harassment, including the deletion of my union cards on three occasions, which I had refused to rectify the third time. I also informed him that just 1 year prior he was sitting in the same room in the same position as me yet he was not qualified to be in the position, as a camera TD i have had that card and done the job for well over a decade with no incidents until now.

Despite my efforts to address these issues, the financial toll is becoming increasingly apparent. When Todd began to explain the grievance process for the payment, I mentioned this is merely to get me paid and slap them on the wrist, the real grievance is whoever is harassing me and retaliating against me directly effecting my work. I explained how in 3 shows in a row I was harassed in each of the 3 with him only confirming that he is likely the source of it and I doubt he has the intention of filing a grievance or investigating himself.

Compounded by the ongoing harassment, the situation has led to the cancellation of my yearly holiday trip to spend time with family, as the financial strain and workplace challenges persist. In a plea for resolution, I emphasized the impact on both personal and professional aspects of my life, urging a prompt cessation of further sabotage.

As I navigate through these tumultuous circumstances, I will continue to document and share updates on my ongoing struggle for fair treatment, payment, and a workplace free from discrimination and harassment.

It's always really sad when someone misses spending quality time with their family because of work, but well jobs pay holidays.

Sometimes we just have to choose one
A family must always earn a living and that’s why the breadwinner is always sometimes far from home or do not even have their time…
It’s not really nice but they don’t have a choice
