My hunting experience

I was at home playing video when my friends John and Ben walked in, we exchanged pleasantries and they said they would be going hunting, I responded wow, that will be lovely. Ben said ain't you going with us? He asked and I said no.

Ben said, Hunting is very interesting and my dad gave him his local hunting gun so that I could come home with lots of bush meats, wow that would be amazing I replied. so you have a local gun on you? Ben brought out the gun under the big traditional attire called "agbada" he was putting on.

Immediately I set my eyes on the gun, I said I was very much interested now. Then I asked him, Ben you have a gun, John is holding one rusted cutlass what should I take for hunting? He replied cutlass and knife would be cool and I replied ok

I was very excited to be part of the expedition. we walked for about two hours non-stop and I was already getting tired, so I asked Ben, please where are we heading to? Even if someone was heading to heaven he would he even gotten there by now, they both laughed at me, Ben then replied, hey buddy we are almost there.

After working for about five(5) minutes I saw this heavy forest, very deep and the inside was dark, my heart skipped and my heart started beating very fast was about to cry. I said Ben, do you know I didn't inform my parents before heading for this expedition, he laughed at me and said yes but he could see the fear in my eyes.

He explained how he and his dad normally go hunting and explained that hunting is of different categories, there are forests with wild aggressive animals, but our hunting expedition is more of plying around the forest and having the opportunity to see animals we normally see on television. That gave me little courage, I took a deep breath and said to him, bro let's go hunting.

The hunting expedition began when we saw a beautiful white rabbit, wow that rabbit was beautiful, we would not kill it, right? Ben replied "Fool we will not kill it but dance with it" He asked us to split up and run after it, and we ran after it and killed it without much stress.

Having killed 4 rabbits, he then asked us to go to the path of wild pigs or we should go to the path of monkeys, that his neighbor Miss Joy needed a baby monkey.

I cut him short by saying we are not going for wild pigs the ones I normally see on television are always dangerous and restless. He then accepts the fact that we should go and capture a baby monkey. Ben warned us that dealing with monkeys could be crazy and at this point, we had to use our local gun, my self and John said okay.

The monkey territory was vast, I could not believe my eyes. Ben said this is what we need to do, we will give out lots of bananas to the monkeys, and after a while we will then set a trap with bananas for baby monkeys, immediately a baby monkey is captured, they will attack us and he will then shoot the gun to scare them away so that we can escape from their territory by running as fast as possible, I replied that was a brilliant idea.

Planned set, I asked Ben who would capture the monkey. He said me, and I exclaimed "Haa Haa" Why me? He replied that I was the fastest runner amongst the 3 of us, so I said no problem.

We eventually captured a baby monkey, I held it with my right hand, and the monkey was chattering/screeching calling for backup, I shouted "Ben I have done my part shoot the gun, and let's run".

To my surprise, Ben was sweating and busy fighting with the gun, Holler the gun was not responding, I said what? What?? The next voice was that of John saying "Holler Holler please run the monkeys are coming for you".

I said to myself "Ben has given me a dead sentence". I was running like "the Flash" the monkeys were running and flying at the same pace using the tress to their advantage, John and Ben were nowhere to be found.

After running for about 15 minutes nonstop, I recalled that monkeys do bite like dogs and I could not imagine being bitten by a monkey, so had to drop the baby monkey and run for my dear life.

Immediately after the monkeys had the baby they retreated and at that point, Ben and John were nowhere to be found.

We lost everything we had, the rabbits, cutlasses, and knife, we only came back with the local gun that almost put us in trouble, we could not disclose what we went through to anybody, because they would certainly laugh at us.

I appreciate the time spent reading my write-up, I will say thanks for stopping by.
