Strategic Battles in Splinterlands and Chess

After setting the game aside for a long time, I opened Splinterlands and played again. I was introduced to this game years ago by borrowing cards from other players and splitting the rewards. I enjoyed playing Splinterlands because it's so much like chess.

Splinterlands and chess share some similarities, even though one is a fantasy-themed digital card game and the other a centuries-old board game. Both are games of strategy that rewards thinking, anticipation of the opponent's moves and memorization. Like chess, Splinterlands players need to build a strong position before making their move. The difference is, in Splinterlands players form a team of monsters with unique abilities instead of using chess pieces.

Coming back to Splinterlands after being gone for so long I had to adjust to the new rules and new cards. The gameplay is the same but the game has a lot of changes including new glint token and the improved interface. I don't have a lot of cards so I'm using mostly the cards provided by the game. For now, I'm playing for fun and I'm getting new cards by buying from the shop with the glint I earned.

I still have some of my old cards that I use in the Silver League I play and it gives me some advantage. Green splinter is my best having a couple of legendary cards and Quora that I frequently use.

Splinterlands is still fun to play if a bit challenging with the limited cards that I have.

I'm going to play again from time to time to increase my deck. I won't focus yet on SPS rewards, just for the fun of getting new cards.
