SPS Goals: Utility Is Here and Everyone is Crying About It

Utility means you need the token.

For years now people have been yelling and crying that SPS has no utility even though we knew utility was coming. Even many proponents of Splinterlands have been selling it off. And I get it, it's taken two years to get to the main utility from the white paper.

But since the layoffs, the pace the team has been working has been frantic. Stuff has been getting done and they've been telling us more is coming. Still when people have complained about bots and no utility and I've mentioned this is coming to fix that, the complaint has been sure, but we have no idea when thats coming, and they kept selling.

Now it's here.

In the next month or so staking is here and it's insane to see all those who've been begging for direct utility now realize that utility means they will actually need the token.

SPS Has More Value Than It's Given Credit For

I've heard many people refer to SPS as the most useless token in the game.

I whole heartedly disagree.

SPS is Splinterlands. Here's how I see SPS shaping up in as the game and platform matures:

• SPS basically represents your ownership, influence, and voting rights in the decentralized game/economy.

• SPS will birth all other sellable assets in the game. Anything that requires a dec burn like unlocking cards, are realy born from burning SPS. Matt said that once they get other revenue sources, they want to make all future asset sales dec burners. So literally, no more assets are created in the game without burning SPS to create them.

• It's the main reward in the game

• You need it staked to get rewards in the game
  -Businesses will likely need it staked to access Splinterlands as a business or a platform

• SPS provides you with first access to other things the team does like in the case of GLX

• SPS gives you vouchers for staking it which will continue to get more uses

• SPS gives you access to tournaments

• For now, SPS gives staking rewards worth over 20%.

And that's off the top of my head. SPS has more utiltiy than just about anything out there if you are interested in the Splinterlands ecosystem or anything the team plans on doing later.

SPS is Splinterlands. Everything about this game is about winning ownership in the economy and then reaping the benefits as the economy grows. It's all about SPS.

It's about the 20 cents in SPS you earn today being worth $10, $20, or $50 tomorrow.

Before I end this, I want to quickly celibrate that I finally hit my goal of 125k SPS staked! WHich is actually perfect because lately I've been haing around Diamond 2 a lot which pays out in full at 127k. I think I can get 2000 more SPS before they launch staking just by playing.
