Y U NO BUY MY NFT?
Many people don't understand the NFT craze and for good reason.
Buying NFT's in general is stupid in their current form. Basically clip art selling for way too much money.
But why does some clip art sell for millions of dollars while some work can't find a buyer?
Community and story.
If you have an NFT project that doesn't go anywhere, it's because you have no story for people to rally around.
And that means you have no community to welcome new buyers into.
And that means you have no momentum for people to fomo into.
That's it.
The value isn't in the clip art or even the #utility. It's in the community and the shared story.
Shared stories are powerful.
They create relationships, billion dollar brands, religions, and even nations.
If your NFT project doesn't have a shared story, you just have clip art you are trying to sell for too much.

Electronic-terrorism, voice to skull and neuro monitoring on Hive and Steem. You can ignore this, but your going to wish you didnt soon. This is happening whether you believe it or not. https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism
This should be required reading for artists, content creators, or anyone who wants 'followers'.
It's a really hard thing for people to grasp and a harder thing to accomplish. Anyone can make an NFT or post to social media but not everyone can create that shared story and really connect.

Have you come across any stories of people who have successfully leveraged the community aspect of an NFT they've bought?
Maybe a businessman who closed a deal after making a connection that they otherwise wouldn't have had access to?
I'd love to read about some real success stories.

Interesting question. I personally don't but what I've seen so far by hanging out in some of these commuities is crypto people meeting each other to do crypto stuff together. People talking about tools the community needs and someone already integrated into the community coming up and building it and making a business out of it.
I "play" Upland and I happened to buy a bunch of land in a neighborhood that I later found out had a whole neighborhood group set up. No one can say what upland is going to be yet but people in the group are making games and marketing the neighborhood and have set up a government and different people in the group are offering their design/coding/marketing skills to the commuity to build it out in anticipation of what it could be one day. One person, with the support of the group just announced they are opening a lending bank for the community and the game.
There's all sorts of stuff like that popping up but I'm not sure if we have the Yale Skull and Bones backroom business deals between BAYC owners yet.
Ah awesome :)
Like you said, it's all so new and who knows what is going to come from the relationships forged here.
If one of the projects hits, then you're all going to have ridiculous money together anyway!
