RE: Hive-Naija Weekend Engagement #44 - "FLOODING IN NIGERIA"

Your points are good and authentic but,
Parts playing aside, hmmm we are talking about the flood and looking from it's cause, the best little drainages will not give a positive impact as to collecting the large water body that was released into the country
I mean, majority of us saw the release of the water and if I'm not mistaking the Nigerian government should have put things in place Also (extra large water collectors)
I rarely do the blame game, but on this one I'll have to blame it on the Nigerian government... My view ✌️❤️

Hmmmm before we blame the government why not look inside, we the people, what do we do when there is heavy rainfall please answer me first
Well the amount of water released into Nigeria in that short period of time can amount to what the earth can pour down in a one month none stop rain if not more than
When it rains, people throw dirty into flowing water and when it has stopped raining some particles left behind will be afloat until sanitation day where all will be brought out again and the area will be cleared. But it is still in the government because they didn't provide good waste management system for her people and if they did the cost will be too high to pay for the jobless citizens they have left hanging
Well if we continue to relate the matter it will still entangle on the government, thank you 😊😊
Yeah it will bro, I am telling you we both are at fault here. Because they don't pay well does that make you pour refuse into drainages, the government are the foundational problem but are we suppose to pour dirt in the first place, vyi only see the ones that afloat what of the ones that sang down?
I get your point Foxy, we should not end up doing the wrong thing because we are given the opportunity to do so. We can always do the right thing even when the government refuses to.
Thank you let's all come to a stand and use our common sense, ignorance is not an excuse to do something bad na...
You're absolutely right, it is not. We have to keep on asking questions so we won't be victims of ignorance.
Thank you 💕 if you say otherwise again we go fight oh
You're welcome dear, okay sir 😅

We don't correct the wrong with wrong because the citizens would be the ones to suffer more.
Thanks for this beautiful comment, we will be the receiver and the blow will be heavier than any other
Exactly brother...
rock on sir and see yu on friday
See you then... Thank you.
💕💕
This matter should go to the government and not her people. I mean, are we the cause of this flooding? Seems some people are deviating from the main topic
Yes we are part of it Mam, are you telling we don't have fault in the flood ???
Whatever, let the government go build the Dam
They know the main cause of this issue
Mtchew 😏😏 I no get your time again, if you are telling me we have no fault then I don't wanna talk about this anymore
We have plenty fault but I blame Nigeria government for not building the Dam earlier on
Heheh 🤣🤣 you are still saying the same thing, lol 🤣🤣 if they build dam you go still pour am dirty lolz 😂🤣

Hmmm enjoy the rest of your day
I will dear, you too 😊
Yes love..
End of the discussion
Okay, done
that's what I told this @quduus1 he seems to think it is our fault, and I told him, I am not inclusive, if the government did do its job well there wouldn't be any form of people littering the environment
You guys won't listen. You might not be part of it but what of those that does it, go and read my latest entry in the engagement and you will understand better...
So are you saying we have no fault at all even if it's just 0.0000001 percent?
my question is did the government try to help, when people weren't responding to the law?
Ohhhh where are you taking this too, that one no concern me, my own is that do we have fault in it or not,???
If you say no then that is your answer but I am never agreeing on the notion that we are faultless when it comes to flood be it government listen or not
i see that you use to throw away dirt for rain
😅😅
Noo I don't but I have seen people doing it in my front
you could have stopped them then and told them you were going to report them to the authorities
Lolz 😂🤣🤣 how old was I back then and what do I want to do, I didn't know any authority lol 🤣🤣 and if they beat me se you go fight for me???
But if I see it now, I will talk oh
okay na, so alll just falls o n God helping us settle issues in this country
Yes dear, now you just dey talk.. we share equal responsibly in this...
BECAUSE YOU DO SEE THEM , WHEREAS I DONT
Ohhhhh what is this na, it seems you have made up your mind not to accept okay oh Stick to your answer ohh
NOT SO MY DEAR, IM JUST THINKING OUT LOUD
Okay I understand lol 🤣🤣🤣
Hehehe
Are you back home!
Not yet,
Okay stay safe and don't wonder about
Nah I'm not that type

Heheh 🤣
Abi na

Okay do that dear
Thanks
Ywlc 😎
😄
🌹💯
well not that i dont get you but, what i know is even if we av fault, what are they doing to help us in reducing this issue?
Don't ask me questions lol 🤣🤣🤣...
Am I your government??
I am telling you we get small fault inside it but you are asking what are we doing..
Lolz 😂🤣 noooooo sebi me I am buhari or osinbajo now heheh 🤣🤣
but you are adamantly faulty we the citizens na, that's why i asked, cause i don't like someone faulty me for what i have not done before
Then speak for yourself that you haven't done it, but over 90 percent has don it and that makes the remaining 10 percent to suffer the consequences including the 90 percent don't you get this thing...
The people that lost their house and families, there are some innocent ones amongst them na..
It's not all of them. That dumps refused into the moving waters but they got a share of the consequences...
So read this again, I am not there, you are not there but others are there are those people not our fellow country people???
i see, so what do you think is the solution?
At first we need to first correct the bad eggs inside and then we can spread out to the government to look for a solution to all this mess
HMMM, ITS TRUE, BUT LETS PRAY TO GOD FOR THE GRACE TO ABOUND
Yeah oh my dear, we need grace my dear...
Yeah,
And the grace will be bestowed upon us ijn
Amen
Okay then are u home now
Yes o
Okay good 😊😊
Yea thanks
OKAY gotta go now later
Alright see ya
👌👏👏
The thing is we did not put the right people in the leadership position so how can they do what they are supposed to do? We though some have chosen the wrong leaders and we have to take full responsibility for that. The greed of some have affected the whole country so we have to know that.
The thing is that our vote doesn't count, so if it doesn't count how can we correct this election issue?
That's the thing, we are just so selfish that it has become so. We the people are the ones that made it so from the beginning and now it is affecting us.
It's quite puzzling when just 1% of the country wants to make a change, but the other 99% aren't responding, therefore this topic needs a lot of explanation because I'm not sure what else to say.
That's the problem we are facing even till tomorrow, we can talk but doing what we say is a very big problem. It is well sha, let's just keep trying.
Yes o it's well, we pray things change in the country
Amen oo, that's our Ernest prayer
Abi o
Yes oo
The people might not be guilty and so is the government, there are just some people that are not doing their work well but we just blame it on the government or on the people and that is why it's better we don't look for who caused it but the way forward.
I do agree with some of your views, the government as you have rightly said have failed to provide us with larger water collectors and a proper refuse disposal system but this does not excuse us. There is more than one way to dispose of refuse, and even some that do have this disposal unit refuse to use it because they find it easier to just dump refuse into the gutter, so sad really. The first time I witness a woman dump refuse into the drainage system I was shocked, I went somewhere with my mom and it started raining we had to take shelter around some houses, and then this woman just came out and dump all that huge refuse into the gutter, I had to ask my mom why she did it and her reply was, that is their own way of dumping refuse, they had no proper disposal system. I blame the government 80%, after all, what strong measures did they put in place to prevent such a disaster in the first place, even after knowing the disaster that was coming, what exactly did they do? It shouldn't be when there is a flood disaster before safety measures are put in place, they ought to have prepared for a rainy day in the dry season. I also blame the people 20% because really we contribute most to our predicament if the government fail us then we should rise up and save ourselves.
The thing is we are forgetting that among us not all of us are not doing well financially, there are some rich men and women among us who can do some things to help but no, they want the government to do everything for the people. God has given us these rich people for the sake of times like this but just few are trying to help, so tell me why won't I blame ourselves? I love taking responsibility for my actions no matter how hard it is.
It's not news that the government has failed us, so why are we still trying to depend fully on them for everything?
So true, perhaps they feel their money is for them only and not for the mass or perhaps they are afraid for their lives, no security in this country. They might feel as though they are exposing themselves to criminals if they take any action. Nigeria's rich people case is something else, out there in Other countries the rich are always donating to charity towards one cause or the other, but we are just so different in Nigeria.
But even the not financially buoyant also have their own, we don't have to be rich before these contribute to our quota.
The government has failed us over and over again and is time we know they don't care what happens to us. But aren't they the people we ought to rely on, can people come together and gather enough money to build a bigger dam in all the 37 States, I think not, this is still why we rely on the government cause they have the resources to do this. I think our resentment towards our incompetent government keeps increasing daily whenever will see how other countries prioritise their citizens' life.
My heart goes out to all those that have lost their lives, homes, houses and business during the flood disaster, i. I can't even begin to imagine the trauma they must be going through. I think it would be good if there is a therapy centre to help flood victims deal with the trauma, to help them understand that starting over might be hard but it will surely get better, to make them know that there is still hope for them.
The rich men won't be scared of being killed or kidnapped if they want to really help. There is no willingness to do anything, we just want to start enjoying without paying the price and that was how we got ourselves into this mess.
We can do anything if we can only work together but divided we are going no where.
Nigeria don't have such things, only the rich get access to these things most often. We just have to fight our way through the trauma.
We are too divided in Nigeria, until there is unity nothing big can be done.
It is so sad really, I pray to God to give us the mechanism to overcome these traumatic experiences
That's just the bitter truth, God is in control.
Amen
🙏🙏
That's right, the government has failed to provide good waste management services and that's why most people end up dropping waste anywhere they dim fit.
Of course Government must take the bigger buck but we still have our part to play because we know we are the ones that will suffer more and not these heartless leaders.
For this matter, I blame our government because we were informed on time but we choose to be stubborn like other things
Hmmm now I don't understand this, are you blaming the people or the government??
Hello ooo
You already know my stand 😘🥺
Ahhhhh see you , I am not counting you amongst today's incited hangout
Or are you blaming both
Me, Nah both I blame
Hehehe 🤣🤣 better for you
Shhhh
Hehehe 🤣 see her
Exactly, they took no action even when they knew of the impeding disaster
That's our way
I pray to Japa 😂
Ahh you too🤣🤣🤣 if all of us japa Nah who go come remain for naija like this😂😂😂. Make we change naija Nah🤭🤭🤭
Hahaha 😂😂😂
It's not really my wish to Japa oo 🤣😃
But things kept getting worst
One bag of rice 46k 😭
Like things just keep getting high, what you buy yesterday by today the price will be like 2x
My dear
It's terrible 😔
God go help us all
What about the rich men and women that are among us and have refused to do anything? Well, I'm just sad for them because God has said it before that it will be hard for the rich men to enter into the kingdom of heaven.
The rich people have a very vital role to also play in every society especially when the government has refused to do these things. But no, instead they choose to leave us here and go to another country with their families and act like they don't see what is happening here.
Hmmmm
Hope 🥱
Yes ambassador 🙈
Lolz 😂
Hehehe 😁😁
I think I get Stan's point now, as a governor, local government chairman and so on, they should have been able to identify that such a problem will come and try to put things in place so as to reduce the effect but no they did not instead they fled and live the poor to die, that's really not good 😏.
True, I mean isn't that why we voted for the in the first place yet they chose to ignore our safety because of their own pocket. Even they knew what was going to happen dem no do anything, they know it won't reach their side. Nah only God fit help us for this Nigeria, government no care about its citizens at all, only themselves
Hmmmm me I no understand any body s point at all, my own is that we have a little fault in this happening..take it or leave it thank you
Okay, I understand you better now, you're welcome 😊🤗
Thank you 💕😊😊
You're welcome dear
End of the discussion
Okay
✅
🚶♀️
We have our parts to play to some extent too.
Yeah that is indeed a fact brother
Nigerian government has failed us
Simple 😭
Hehee. Very simple.
Hmmmmmm what are you saying...they failed us true but are we any better than them ???
Nah bro.. We are not totally innocent.
Thanks for accepting bro, I just want to be hearing we have a part to play too even if na 0.1 percent...
I Sha no say you and I no dey innocent
Nigerians will always blame the government even in matters that are within their rights to correct.
The government has its role to play in this, and so do the people. No matter how much you blame the government, it won't change the fact that you should take responsibility for yourself
Kai God 🙏 bless you my guy. We just never loose that opportunity to blame government what about the ones we are doing...let us cause a change within and then work hand in hand with the government and then we will win together..
Definitely. It is only unity and cooperation that can help us.
Truth is, the quality of a nation's leadership is a reflection of the quality of its citizens
Yeah that is very true, let us just do what is wright without blaming the government and after then we can go talk to them to join hands with us to make the country better
Nah true you talk but make the government do right by us also. We dey vex😢😢
😂😂 Me sef dey vex. But we also have to be considerate, cos at the end nobody can fight the government and succeed
Humm, true
Not per say, even those of us at the lower level are worst as the government but they have refuse to take into consideration our lives, they are selfish. This is why we blame them
Hehehe 🤣🤣 better thanks dear for elaborating
You are welcome 😄😄.
thank you , because the way the situation of nigeeria is now, every body wants to leave the country for greener pastures
May God help us all
Amen o
Yes they have
The government should do their roles by giving us good government and good roads then provide incinerator all over the states for refuse.
Now I understand you better, we are talking about things in general instead of focusing more on the flood situation. Truly the rulers in these communities should have been able to know about the situation and seek the help of the government but instead I think they ran away with their families 😢.
Selfish people the whole lots of them. But should they seek help, will the government really raise an helping hand? I have little faith in government now, even before seeking help, the government of that state ought to have done analysis to know which area will be affected most, then put measures in place.
That's human behaviour, when they have got the power to leave. The area , they don't care about others, that's very bad and a very selfish act
Exactly oo, but I know soon God will make everything fall in place.
Amen, he will
Yes dear
I absolutely support your explanation because they had the choice of stopping this and as usual, they snoozed.
