A Bit of Musical Madness (Three Tune Tuesday)

avatar

It's #ThreeTuneTuesday so it's a good chance to share whatever music has been our minds... and playlists recently. I tend to fluctuate a bit; bouncing from band to band without a care for in the world. Sometimes I'd be in the middle of listening to something but then get reminded about another song and then I line up the next one regardless of genre or tone.

The Scratch - Trom II (A Slip In The World)

I've shared some Scratch before because I really enjoy their music and since this one came out yesterday I thought I'd share it today.

It's a little bit different than their usual was stuff, the opening of it is pretty moody and melodic, which makes plenty of room for their harmonised vocal chorus to lay down some lyrics. I've said it before. I think their vocalising along with the melody on the strings is really good and is easy to get lost in, it's like being put into a trance.

The spell breaks a bit as a faster tempo comes in, which leads to another chorus of sound to get lost in.

As I said before, I found this a little different than their usual stuff, but it still sounds like them. It's pretty good, but not my favourite, regardless of what I think though, it's still a good tune.

Fugazi - Bad Mouth

I love Fugazi, and especially this album - 13 songs - The entire album has this really loose feeling and is well worth listening to in one continuous listen.

Years ago, when I was about 17 or so I was getting a lift home from this older guy I knew, we were talking about music on the way and he mentioned Pink Floyd's album, 'Dark Side of The Moon' - which at the time I hadn't heard - once he found out I didn't hear it it he was shocked and gave me a bud of some green he had and told me, "Get in there, roll a joint, stick a pair of headphones on and learn some culture."

I did just that, and the album was pretty amazing. Just like me back then, I'm going to drive my digital car, pass a digital bud, and tell you to stick a pair of headphones on and listen to 13 Songs by Fugazi. Now, it's not really on the same level as Dark Side of The Moon, but it is a really good album.

Pink Floyd - On The Run

This song was one of my favourites on that album to listen to with headphones, especially as it gets into it and the noises are shimmering through one ear and out the other. It's one I liked closing my eyes to and watching the sound waves passing by.

Although, in saying that, it's best to listen to it with proper over-ear headphones rather than in-ears because you just can't get the bass in those smaller ones.

It's not my favourite song on the album in general, but as an interesting musical interlude, it's really good. Also, I heard before that this was one of the first electronic songs. I have no idea if that's true or not, if it is true though it's interesting to see the evolution of it and what it went on to become.

I think I like on the run a lot. It's giving that 8D vibe as the interlude moves from one ear to the other. I don't know if it's something I could listen to when I'm feeling particularly sunny but it's a cool music 🌺

I do love some Pink Floyd. Great headphones music, especially that album.

Get in there, roll a joint, stick a pair of headphones on and learn some culture.

Hahahahaha! This is the best thing I've read in some time. Now that's advice.

I remember choosing to dislike Pink Floyd as a child because my friends liked them so much. I had to run counter to the grain, y'know. Definitely grew to like them in the years since.

I've been like that myself with bands over the years haha

Yeah, it was some good advice indeed, I've often gone back to that album since then as it is very good. Although, I knocked smoking on the head a few years ago.

Ya man, cracking mix there from the super old Floyd, to the kinda old Fugazi to the super new The Scratch. I like all the stuff you have shared from the scratch and although very different to the others and more serious, it's a great song and well delivered. Nice bit of wisdom imparted here from you mate...
