Baptisms, Bass, and Blockchains (September HPUD)

Greetings and salutations Hive, today being the 1st of the month marks another power-up day, the end of summer, and the end of a pretty stressful few weeks! I'll get into a couple of these things before getting into the power-up.

What Has Been Going On?
Thanks for asking; a few things, and while all of them are great, they are no less stressful.

As most of you may know, I like to use HPUD as a chance to reflect on the previous month and talk candidly about a couple of things going on in my life. In a way, the first of every month is something of a diary, but I think over the last - almost - two years, I've chosen a good day to chat about stuff.

Baby Got Christened
The little fella is officially a son of Christ, and the day was really nice.

Yesterday, the 30th of September we spent the afternoon in a church, and the evening out in a small village halfway between mine and my partner's towns, it was a good choice as the family and friends from each town had only a couple of miles to travel, as opposed to expecting one full side to make a longer journey to the other town.

The Church - It was a really nice ceremony, the priest was great, and it was very interactive too, I even got up to do a prayer which I wasn't expecting. Kaleb fell asleep halfway through during one of the hymns and he stayed asleep the whole time. One of the songs they played sounded so like Chumbawamba. He usually falls asleep listening to music, especially if it's a female singer.

He got the water on his head and still didn't wake up, lol. The priest was even kind enough to give us a bottle of holy water out of the font, lovely, a nice bottle of baby scalp. There were four in total being christened, and none of them cried. The priest even made a craic during it saying, "I'm shocked they're all so calm, what did you's do, give them all Calpol?"

It was a good laugh, I'm delighted that it wasn't cold and dull, just because it's the house of god doesn't mean we can't have a bit of fun.

The Afters - it was so nice to see everyone, there was a great turnout and he got a good few pressies from friends and family. We all had food and a couple of drinks, and then by about 8 o'clock we headed back home.

I was kind of in the mindset to see about going to the pub or something, but once we were back at the house the whole day hit us at once and we were fit for bed.

Of Projects, and Procrastinations
God, other than planning stuff, and whatever else has been going on I've been working on some really cool stuff, and they're to do with Hive, so will be something everyone here will be interested in.

Obviously, three of them aren't ready to be announced yet. While we were hoping to have some stuff going out around the weekend of Hive Fest, it just wasn't possible. I'm not allowed to speak about it here, but all will be made public very soon.

My Personal Writing - on top of what I'm doing outside of Hive, I've managed to continue with my own personal writing journey, but sadly I'm no closer to having my novel published which is pretty sad, to be honest, but hey, at least I'm still writing, still creating, and still enthusiastic about the entire thing. All I need is an editor, but someone I can get along with, and who gets it. I have some big ideas, big plans, and plenty more to do, - hopefully - when things quiet down I'll be able to dedicate myself fully to this stuff.

Hive Stuff - So, currently I have 3 months to go before I get that yearly poster badge... I can smell it, I can see it, I can taste it... it will be mine.

I'm actually shocked that I've posted every day for 9 months, and I see it as a real accomplishment. I have grown my stake so much too in that time, using my own money, but mainly what I've earned while being here.

I'm dedicated to Hive, and I trust that this is the future. The one thing I'm happy about is being able to be a part of it! I may not be able to code or do technical stuff, but with the projects I'm working on in the shadows, I'll be doing my part for this blockchain.

Music - the cover band is chipping away and gigging away, the set is pretty kickass and we're working toward creating a couple of tunes of our own to slip in with the covers.

The other band is also doing well, there are a few gigs coming up but one of note is supporting Bad Manners again in December, I'll probably do a post about the music side of things separately. I have to say though, between the two bands and practicing alone I can really feel my skills have improved a lot in the last year.

I need to record a few more songs and upload the ole vids, and I'll see if I can get some recordings of the lot of us playing together and stick them up too.

On With The Power-up

So, starting off today I have raised myself up to 7,267, which is great considering that I had hit 7k just 30 days ago.

I had 40 put aside for today, so used that to get myself up to over 7,300 HP.

There we have it, I'm delighted to be inching my way ever closer to my goals!

Hive Goals
So, due to a bunch of things going on this month, and last month, I haven't been able to reach my goal. I still have time to hit it though, but I just need to re-centre myself and put my focus on it.

Currently, my earnings here are doing well, but I do need to pick up the slack by buying some Hive of my own to top up the numbers.

I'm not worried though and think I'll do fine. 10k by Christmas, that's the plan and I'm sticking to it.
