Christmas Is Upon Us

@ecency-star released a post today, asking us to talk about some elements of Christmas that we're looking forward to.

I can't believe it's only 2 days away now. I don't know what it is about this past year, but it seems to have flown past. However, that could be down to a bit of sleep deprivation.

What Am I Most Looking Forward To

I think it being the baby's first Christmas has really built up our - and our families - anticipation for this year.

It is honestly going to be so much fun seeing his face light up with the different things we've bought for him. Now, we haven't gone too insane with buying presents. But, he was the first person we bought stuff for this year, and we kept seeing things after buying his main presents so we'd pick a few bits and pieces as we went. But, they're only stocking fillers.

He opened a small present when he went to visit Santa - which he loved - and the toy he got was a little monkey teddy/ rattle/squeaky toy. He has had a lot of fun with it and seemed to understand the concept of ripping the wrapping paper. Obviously though, with our help.

I'm hoping that this doesn't lead to destructive behavior. I can't really explain it, but after ripping the paper, and being praised for it, his eyes kind of lit up. Hopefully, it'll be fine.

Something Pissed Me Off

I bought my partner a surprise, and I know she'll really love it. But, it's top secret so I'm not mentioning what it is here.

It came from a contact in England, and it landed in Ireland this Monday. I had to pay import fees, which were 22 Euros, but it was fine.

Well, I've patiently waited all week, for it not to arrive. Not only did it not arrive, but I was extorted for the pleasure of being disappointed. Wankers.

Now, I get that it's Christmas and that it's busy. The postmen are flat out this entire month, working 6 days a week just to keep on top of all the letters and parcels. I know because my dad is a postman, and he has been fairly bolloxed for the entire month.

The thing that bugs me is that I could have driven up to Dublin to the head office and collected it from them in the time it has taken for it to be sent down.

It's a shame, but that's life. I have two presents for her which are nice - and that she picked out - sadly though, she already knows what they are, so she won't be getting a surprise.

The silver lining is that she'll have something to open a couple of days after Christmas, but still, I'm irritated.

There you go. One thing that I'm really looking forward to, and one thing that I'm pretty annoyed about.

Regardless of being annoyed, I do think it'll be a great day, and I hope every one of my friends here on Hive has a great time and see's the new year in with a bang!

Peoples are busy in their works in Christmas, they are always delayed in delivery of products, so just bear with the office.
Merry Christmas.
