Sharing Some NOFX For TTT

Punk In Drublic released on the 19th of July 1994, and the world has never been right since.

I have the CD, but I'm too lazy to route it out, so here's an image of the album I found online.

Linoleum - NOFX

This is the opening song from my favourite NOFX album, and it's one of those songs that has always stuck in my head from the first time I listened to it.

I've listened to this band for so long, that listening to them sometimes leaves me lost in my own head. It's as if the hit of nostalgia leaves me in a place between time, where I could be in that moment, or the past.

They're doing their final tour this summer, and while they're not playing Ireland - the pricks - I'll definitely be going to see them. It seems like they're doing 1 or 2 albums per venue, and since there are some of their albums I love more than others I'll be routing around to find the best night for me, regardless of what city it'll be.

Happy Guy - NOFX

This one is really good, and one that was never really a favourite of mine until a few years ago, when I actually listened to the lyrics.

It's about a guy who has worked his life in many different jobs until one day he finds god and gives it all up to the shock of his family and peers.

"His hopes may be false, but his happiness is real. Don't try to judge him, he's just a man."

I love that line, because yeah, if someone wants to worship a god and look at the world through religious teachings that's great so long as they're happy. We're all free to do what we want so long as it doesn't hurt anyone else, so why judge anyone else's life choices? Great song, and thought-provoking lyrics.

Fleas - NOFX

This is one of my favourites of this album, I love the closing lines of it, "Follow what I say not what I've done."

I always kind of found it funny, because my parents would often say the same sort of stuff to me. Now I'm going to have to try and do the same for my son and guide him in a good direction without feeling like a complete hypocrite warning him away from all the sort of shenanigans I got up to. That's life I suppose.

They do like short songs :) Another band I've heard of, but don't really know. Thanks for sharing these to educate me.

(Edited)

Short and sweet, although, they did wrote a song called The Decline - which was 18 minutes long making it probably the longest punk song ever written which beat Subhumans From The Cradle To The Grave by 2 minutes.

Both songs are amazing though.

I know punk was partly a reaction to the extravagance of prog, but I can like both.
