Biggest disadvantage of living alone

It was around 7:30 am on Saturday when I lazily got up from bed after a very short, sweet sleep caused by the Zealy Campaign saga, I walked up to my kitchen only to find my pot of soup uncovered as if community spirits had feast on it in the night.

"Thank God!" I said with joy as I checked and saw that it had soured because I didn't warm it the previous night before sleeping.

I was supposed to be sad because my soup got soured instead of being joyful, right? Go and get popcorn. Let me tell you a movie-like story.

On Thursday of that week, I was hungry and decided to prepare myself a very delicious soup to enjoy myself. I thought of many soups, but it's only banger soup that I had settled on.

So I pocketed some cash from my drawer and headed to the market close to my street. I got there, and I saw banger (palmfruits) that looked somehow different from the one I used to buy.

"Madam, this banger looks strange; I don't want to buy it," I said as I tried to leave her spot to others.

"Customer, wait, na, this is Agric banger; check it; it has enough flesh." She brought one fruit and made some openings on it with her finger, which really exposed the bunch of the fruit's flesh, and it got me convinced. I bought and left home, even though my instinct was telling me that it's not good to buy Agric palm fruits alone to make soup; it's better to buy a mixture of Agric and the native breed.

When I say I'm a good and fast cook, just trust me.
I rallied around in my kitchen, and within 35 minutes, I was done cooking. This is the exact food that takes ladies 4 hours to cook. If you're hungry and a lady wants to make a banger soup for you to eat, just forget it; it's better you order food from a state that's 90,000km away than to wait for her to come through.

All through the cooking process, I didn't have a taste of the soup. I don't like tasting soup to check the quantity of ingredients added. I uses an accurate eye gauge, and it always works for me. A real African doesn't measure the quantity of ingredients to add to soup; if you see an African doing that, just know he or she is trying to adopt the real definition of fake life.

After I was done, I pulled off my shirt, made Eba (African food), and dished out a good portion of the soup to a plate. I made sure that I dirtied the soup on the plate with enough fish.

I made the first cut, and when it entered my mouth, it slapped both sides of my cheeks. The taste was like tears from a girl crying from scattered Heart (heartbreak).

It dawned on me that it's never a good idea to use Agric palm fruits alone to make a soup. I stared at the full pot of soup, and I began to wish my younger brother who lives with me was around, but no, he travelled out.
How am I going to eat this soup alone? I pondered as I stared at the filled pot of soup again. I can't pour it away because it'll be a total waste of money. I used up to 6HBD to prepare the soup, and I couldn't just see myself throwing a whole 6HBD away when I knew it'd take me two weeks to earn that from writing.
Also, sermons I do hear in church say God hates wasting food, so if I do what God hates, that means I'm disobeying Him and I won't make heaven. Hey! I'm very conscious of making heaven; that's why I've been living a clean life.

That was the moment I concluded that the biggest disadvantage of living alone is the moment you're faced to eat the rubbish you cooked.

I struggled to eat the soup that Thursday and Friday, and when it got to Saturday, it got soured, and that is a fair play; at least it wasn't intentional. I poured it away with unguilty conscience.

When I told someone about my ordeal, the person said the soup was not okay because I don't know how to prepare it. Well, I didn't argue, because I'll explain and get tired when I don't have evidence.
