Seen a lady with heavy makeup?

Greetings!

Before I dive into the direction I'm heading with this article, I would like to say that I’m someone who genuinely appreciates sparkling ladies. By "sparkling," I mean women with a good sense of fashion, but not in an extravagant way. You understand, right?

Have you seen the way some ladies apply heavy and excessive makeup for special occasions such as weddings or birthday ceremonies? If you haven’t, just take a walk through Africa and prepare to be amazed.

I’ve attended many wedding events where, when the bride walks out into the hall, her face looks totally different from what we’re used to seeing. Sure, her face might appear more glittering, but at that moment, the heaviness of the substances on her face often alters and even diminishes her natural beauty.

I remember a particular wedding I attended in my hometown. The bride was someone I knew very well, a natural beauty with melanin-rich skin. I was also close to one of her brothers, and we all traveled to the village for the wedding. Her brother had to admit that the makeup on his sister's face made her look odd and very different from her real self. I was relieved that her brother spoke up because I was silently shaking my head at how the makeup had ruined her natural look. The lady has a dark complexion, but the makeup gave her a completely different one. Now, you might think the makeup artist didn’t do a good job or didn’t know what they were doing. But the truth is, the lady received applause and compliments on her "beautified" face after the makeup, which tells you that it was pleasing to many. Her face appeared so artificial and that's what ladies like.

A few years ago, I learned a lesson that no matter how bad a lady’s makeup is, as a guy, it’s considered very rude to comment on it. The best thing to do is to swallow your thoughts and move on without saying anything. There was this one lady, a coworker and friend, with whom I worked at a school as a teacher. We had an end-of-year party, and the makeup she had on was out of this world. I saw it and couldn’t bear it because this once beautiful lady had become unrecognizable. My itching mouth finally let it out, and I told her that the makeup on her face was excessive, and that was that. We had some not-so-funny talks, and from that day, she distanced herself from me, holding a grudge that lasted about six months before we started talking again. Can you imagine that!

What prompted me to write this article is something I came across trending online on Sunday. A top pastor in my country boldly declared that ladies who wear makeup are not appreciative of God's work, which is why they do it.

Well, I’ll leave that to you.
It's not in my place to judge things of the heavenly 😂

Thanks for reading.

Hehehe. At least being moderate with applying make up is still good. I also see ladies in such category and would exclaim, like what the hell is this? Some will do make up to the extent that you won't recognize them again. All for what?

Don't ever say a lady's makeup is ugly, it's either it's beautiful or it's beautiful 😊😂 thanks

Oh that is so true ...

When it comes to makeup, often the old adage less is more applies.

Yeah, less should be practiced, or let me call it moderate

You're shaking tables o, but I agree moderation is key in all we do, even in the application of make up.

Thank you for agreeing.
Tell the ladies around you, if you're not among them though, to be moderate 😂
