Trip To Bandung - Part 1

Bandung is the capital city of West Java Province. It is about 110 km km from Bekasi. I took the trip by bus from Bekasi bus station.

The trip took around 4 hours. If you go to Bandung by personal car, you arrive faster. Public transportations always wait for passengers on their stop points. That is why travelling by bus will take longer time.

I arrived in Bekasi bus station at 2:00 p.m. I should wait in the bus for about 1 hour. The bus left for Bandung around 3.00 p.m.

The bus station was not too busy. Now, there are more people who own cars. There are also trains from Jakarta to Bandung. People prefer to go to Bandung from Bekasi by bus because there are no more options of other public transportations. A few years ago, buses were the most vital public transportations and the bus stations were always busy.

The condition of the bus station in Bekasi was not good. There were no waiting rooms. All passengers should wait and enter in the bus parking area. It was very hot today. The air was full of polution.

A bus capacity is 65 passengers but today, there were only a half of the capacity. I took the seat the firs time.

The fare trip from Bekasi was 32,000 IDR or around $2,5. The bus was the economy class with no Air Conditioner. That made me feel very heated.

Purwakarta

Purwakarta was a small town before I arrived in Bandung. It was about 50 km from Bandung and Jakarta. There were some TOLL gates in Cikampek , Purwakarta. You could go to Central Java , West Java and Jakarta from the Toll Gates in Purwakarta.

My bus quited from the TOLL gates in Cikampek. Then it entered Sadang Toll Gates to Bandung. Before entering Sadang TOLL gates, we rode in the city of Purwakarta. I could not take many photos from the bus but I hope you could enjoy some of the photos that I succeeded to take in.

There were long lines of vehichels on the TOLL street near the gates.

Purwakarta was surounded by mountanous areas. The streets were not too busy.

Some people were waiting for public transportation on the side of the street. There was a small traditional food stall. In Indonesia, there are a lot of people who sell food on the side of streets.

Before entering Sadang TOLL Gates, some peddlers would enter our bus and offered us with instant noodles and some snacks. The peddlers were having a rest waiting for the next bus. You should prepare small money if you want to buy snacks from peddlers so you do not need any exchanges.

On the right side, you could find some non permanent shops. They sold traditional foods and fruits. When the mango seasons, you could see a lot of mangoes sold on the small shops.

I arrived at Leuwi Panjang bus station in Bandung at 18.30 p.m. The bus station was renovated. It was well arranged. It was clean too.

I stopped in front of the bus station gate. I got down there and had some coffee in a small food stall. A cup of hot coffee was around $0.4 or 5,000 IDR. It was an open air and non permanent coffee shop. You could also order fried rice here. A plate of fried rice was around $1,2 or 20,000 IDR. My son wanted instant noodle. A bowl of instant noodle without an egg was $0.7 or 8,000 IDR.

I sit there for about an hour. I waited for my brother to pick me up. Then I decided to sit and wait in front of a closed store. Then my brother came and we drove to my brother's house. Ok the story will continue to Trip to Bandung 2.
