My mom loves gold, this might be her favorite color.

Not gold jewelry, though, but gold-colored display figurines. Actually, they’re not just any gold-colored figurines.

To my mom, these are lucky figurines. Hahaha! Yes, my mom believes in things like that...

that certain objects can bring good luck. That’s the opposite of what I believe.

For me, nothing really brings luck. The only ones who got lucky from these so-called lucky figurines are the people who sell them because they made money.

Because if they really were lucky, we’d be rich by now. Hahaha!!!

These are just a few of my mom’s gold-colored lucky displays. She has many more in her living room.

I always tell her, “If you had just saved the money you spent on those and used it to buy real gold, you might actually get lucky when the price of gold goes up.”

She just rolls her eyes at me whenever I tease her.

"Mom, can I borrow some of your gold displays?" I asked her this morning.

"Where are you taking those?" she asked.

"I'm just going to take pictures of them and enter them in a contest," I replied.

“If you win that contest, maybe you’ll start believing they really are lucky,” my mom teased back. Hahaha!!!

Oh, I just hope you'll win so you'll know that your mom was right after all.
Actually, some things bring luck to those who believe in it.

Hahaha! Hopefully not, so that she’ll stop buying those kinds of things. Thanks for dropping by!
