Purple - Lifescape Tribe Blogging Contest Round 2 - COLORS OF LIFE

The color topic for this week's Color challenge in the Lifescape tribe is the color purple, but before I start with my post, what really is the difference between purple and violet? So what I did was I researched because I really didn't know.

I found out in my reading that violet is actually a true color while purple is a combination color.

What does this mean? Violet is made from a single light color whereas purple is made from a combination of red and blue.

Perhaps to the human eye, we may not differentiate much between purple and violet because the combination of blue and red can create a color that looks violet.

But even though it may look violet, it cannot be called violet if we used a combination of red and blue; color experts would still refer to it as purple.

So for my purple topic, I will present to you my Purple Heart Plant. Just from its name, we can be sure that it's purple, although the sunlight here is a bit too harsh, so the picture I took doesn't show its purple hue much.

One of my favorite plants is this purple Heart, it's somewhat invasive and difficult to control but easy to grow.

I like including it with my other plants so that my garden isn't just all green, red, and yellow.

It's beautiful in the garden to have different colors and not just all green.

I have other purple plants like the Ocsalis Triangularis, but it's a bit sensitive and doesn't like the heat, so it always stays in the shade.

I hope you liked my topic about the color purple. How about you? What purple thing holds value in your life?
