Magalli's "SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! MYCELIC MORPHOYD!"

We are here with the new Weekly Battle Challenge, today the protagonist will be the Mycelic Morphoid a low-cost melee attack card.

Before talking about the card, I want to say that I analyzed it as a Bronze player.

So let's start analyzing the card:

1 ) Mana cost: 1 Low Mana Cost for a card with low stats.

2 ) Melee Attack: 1 Lower Melee attack possible, it is ok for a low-cost card

3 ) Speed: 1 As I said before, even if it is the lowest value possible, it is ok for a low-cost card.

4 ) Expansion: Chaos Legion I highlighted that because in the near future the Expansion of a card will be essential to know if it is playable in the Modern format or in the Wild format (MF: playable only in the last two Expansions that came out on Splinterlands, WF: every Expansion is playable).

5 )Health: 2 Considering the low-mana cost of the card, it is a nice value, also considering that the Mycelic Morphoid could take one hit before dying.

6 )Element: Earth Its element is "Earth" which can be used only with Earth Summoners and Dragon Summoners.

Please note: the Mycelic Morphoid has no armor and no abilities.

The Mycelic Morphoid has no similar cards to be compared to, so I compared it with the cards that differ the least from it.

Considering the Mana Cost, we can compare it only with the Chaos Agent:

Probably they are equivalents in terms of utility, depending on different "Rules of Combat" we could choose one or the other to maximize our chances of victory.

Considering the Element, there are no 1 Mana Cost cards, so I selected two cards that cost 2 in Mana:

Both the Failed Summoner and the Khmer Princess are definitely better than the Mycelic Morphoid, the first for his ability Magic Reflect and the second one because it can count on Magic attack and the possibility to boost it with the Summoner Obsidian.

So after we analyzed the card and its competitors, how and when should we use this card?

In this case, the answer is questionable but in my opinion, the Mycelic Morphoid should be used only when there's a 1 Mana free in the Mana Cap of the battle and we don't need bait for the eventual opponent's Snipe ability user Monster.

In that case, better to use the Chaos Agent.

There are some "Rules of Combat" that could help the Mycelic Morphoid to be a bit more competitive and useful:

But in none of these "Rules of Combat," it can really shine.

So the introduction to the Mycelic Morphoid is finished, let's see it in action!

Rules of Combat: Neutral There are no "Rules of Combat" in this battle.

Mana Cap: Positive I can use the Mycelic Morphoid as a useful bait without sacrifying important cards.

Active Elements: Neutral All the elements are choosable, but I have some "trump cards" in my Earth deck so in my League, I'm not scared of other decks.

I chose the Obsidian, the Earth element Summoner that gives a +1 boost to Magic Attack, to maximize my good Earth element cards.

Plus, I have it on level 2, and that allows me to use Level 3 common cards and Level 2 Rare and Epic cards.

Then, after choosing the Summoner, I decided to play safe and I choose the Unicorn Mustang with the Void ability, a good tank, with nice values in Health, Melee Attack, and Speed, able to resist to Magic attacks.

After it, I placed my first "trump card", the Queen Mycelia a Legendary Chaos Legion card with the precious ability Protect, making my deck safe versus Melee attack opponents.

My second "trump card" was the Level 2 Goblin Psychic, with the Heal ability to support the tank.
Considering it was Level 2 I wasn't scared about a possible Speed tie versus another Goblin Psychic.

Finally, I completed the deck with two Magic Attack monsters, the Khmer Princess and the Elven Mystic to take advantage of the Obsidian Summoner boost.

Please Note: I used the Mycelic Morphoid in the last position to protect my Magic attack monsters from the eventual Sneak ability of the Opponent's monsters. The Sneak ability "Targets the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster".

My opponent chose the same element I chose but considering my "trump cards" I had a big advantage because my Goblin Psychic would always heal and hit before the Opponent's one and my Unicorn Mustang would have been protected by the first direct hit of the Opponent's Unicorn Mustang thanks to the Queen Mycelia's ability.

I easily won the battle thanks to my Level 2 cards and my Legendary card Queen Mycelia, I invested well :)

Please Note: I noticed an interesting card in my opponent's deck that I think is worth mentioning, the Creeping Ooze:

It is a Neutral Element reward card, that costs 1 mana and has the Slow ability, that "Reduces the Speed of all enemy Monsters by 1."
That's another possible "trump card" that you could face, luckily for me, when Magic attacks are involved the Speed doesn't count for eventual missing ( except if you face a monster with the Phase ability that allows dodging Magic attacks).

Nice victory, the Mycelic Morphoid did nothing, but I'm sure it was ready for action.

Final Consideration: the Mycelic Morphoid is a low-cost mana card, with no abilities and low stats, as I said before it should be used only if there's 1 free in Mana Cap as bait.

But if I consider my Obsidian Summoner Level, the Mycelic Morphoid could become an extremely useful bait, because at level 3 it will gain the Thorns ability, so as always, there are no useless cards in Splinterlands.
