I cared for my groundnuts, harvested both: "Achara, corn and water-leaf" from my garden yesterday

Hello lovelies and you all active, handsome and beautiful community members. Am here again to drop my garden updates this month regarding some of the works I performed in my garden yesterday.

Here in Nigeria, we're experiencing wet season though, we do experience hot and sunny weather too. But, for days now, it rained so heavily thereby affecting my plants. For example, yesterday, as I went to check on my garden, I found out that some of the vegetables and plants, especially groundnut have bent as a result of heavy rainfall throughout last week.

As a caring farmer, as soon as I discovered the issue, I left every other thing I wished doing to make sure I give special attention to the groundnuts. The funny aspect of it all is that their condition reminded me of what I should have done days ago because the groundnuts now have flowers. hahaha. Yes, groundnut need pampering. In a normal sense, I need to bend down their stems, and then, cover it with sand. Why? Reason being that groundnut grows under it's stem. So, to be sure of harvesting bigger groundnut (peanut) in the future, I must do it.

Therefore, the first thing I did was to open the ground as the image below indicates.

Then, I placed the groundnut (peanut) inside it as the next image portrays.

After placing the groundnut stem inside the opened soil, I covered it with sand. I did same to all the groundnuts in my garden. Just take a look at the works I did below.

Nevertheless, after caring for all my groundnuts, I switched over to another kind of work. Mum as a generous giver promised to supply someone with water-leaf and Achara (Achara is an edible bamboo which people always cook with whenever they're cooking party or occasional soup). Since it's a wedding ceremony, they must cook with them. Therefore, immediately, I harvested almost all the water-leaf inside my garden.

Next, I switched over to Achara. I harvested all for them because am just happy for the lady about to wed.

Hmm, imagine how much it will cost if we're to purchase all these things from market. Who on earth can tell me that it's unwise to have a garden? Once you have a garden, you can easily share its produce with both friends, neighbours and enemies if you have one. Lolz.

Alright alright, remember, all works without play can easily make marajah to feel tired. So, after dancing to my mother's tune, I switched over to what gives me joy. Would you like to know what it is? Hehehe, among all the things I planted in that garden, the one that gives me excess joy is corn 🌽. Hmm, instead of planting without corn, it's best for me not to plant anything. Hahaha, stop laughing oo. Am telling you only but reality. The presence of corn in my garden or farm adds excessive joy to my joy. So, after I must have harvested all my mom's wish, I started harvesting corn, though, for my personal use. But, I also shared some with 2 of my friends as a surprise to them. It's good to have a garden.

Done with the days harvesting, I walked around my garden to check on my cassava. What I saw amazed me. Do you know that some of the cassava have overgrown to the extent that some are now taller than me. Hahaha 🤣🤣.

Thanks for viewing all my yesterday's garden journal. Am grateful.

I just learned something new about how to take care of peanuts. I never knew we need to do that to have plenty of harvest. Thanks for sharing your ideas.

Wow! You have a lot of harvest from your garden. Keep it up.

Oh our problem before of our peanuts are rats. We harvested few because rats ate them first.
