Arguing in the Dark: America’s Favorite Pastime

⚡ Fun assumption we all make:
The lights will always turn on.
The water will always flow.
The card reader will always beep “approved.”
Because America runs on vibes and good intentions, right? 😌
While we’re distracted by nonstop outrage, celebrity drama, and culture war cage matches, a less exciting problem keeps waving its arms in the background.
People you don’t hear about on TikTok have been warning us:
Kash Patel.
Ted Koppel.
Federal grid regulators (NERC).
Cybersecurity experts.
Military advisors.
Same boring message nobody wants to click on: Our electric grid is old, fragile, and wildly unprepared for modern threats. ⚙️⚡
Foreign actors have already been snooping around. Physical attacks on infrastructure have already happened.
Some critical equipment takes years to replace.
“No power” doesn’t mean candles and cozy family time.
It means no hospitals, no clean water, no fuel, no banking, no internet, no normal life. 🏥💧💳
But don’t worry we’ll still argue about politics until the phones die.
You’d think this would be the one issue where everyone agrees.
No left. No right. Just survival.
But that would require adults in the room… and those seem to be in short supply. 🪑
Even a regular household knows you pay the electric bill before buying extras. Apparently nations need a reminder.
🤔 So here’s the question:
Who’s actually focused on keeping the lights on?
Before the blackout turns this into a “lessons learned” moment?
⚡ Because reality doesn’t care who you voted for. It just flips the switch.
