A Week of Resilience: Balancing Exams with Life's Lessons

If I most give an account of my experience this week, I will say that this past week is a true test of my resilience ability couple with my second semester exams looming over me. Before the exam, I promise my humble seIf that I would solely focus and concentrate on my studies ahead of each days exams and nothing else. But has God and nature will have it. In the act of a severe and chaos preparation and revision, I saw my humble self immersed engaging in other activities that taught me a lesson and experiences that reminded me of the importance of balance in life.

It all kicks start with a surprise visit to a friend I called my brother who has been currently sick and going through a tough and ugly time of his life. Without my plans interfering, couple with the stress of exam, I knew I had to be there for them. On getting there we spent quality hours discussing, crying and laughing all together. It was there that I realized that true friendship knows no bounds, not even exams could.

The next day as time and calendar rolls, I attended an inaugural lecture of a professor in my department on history and historiography of the people of Old Calabar and her environs. It was a poignant reminder of my forefather migration, settlement and origin as well the relationship they kept and the war and conflict that occurred.

The inaugural lecture made me to delved more deeper into my studies, as I discovered a new appreciation for the course I am learning. It was there I came to know that the concepts and theories I was studying were not just mere facts to memorize, but had real-world applications as an historian. In most say that newfound understanding made my studies more meaningful and engaging.

Throughout the week, I faced moments of exhaustion, lack of money, hunger, frustration, and self-doubt. But I persevered in drawing strength from my support system and my own resilience. I learned to prioritize my schedule task, in managing my time effectively, and take breaks when needed.
As I sit here, reflecting on my week, I am filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment. I realized that even in the midst of exams, life continues to happen. And it's how we respond to these experiences that truly matters.

I learned that resilience is not about being immune to challenges, but about facing them head-on and growing from them. I learned that balance is key, and that taking care of oneself is not selfish, but necessary. And I learned that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope and always something to be grateful for at all times.

As a result of the #julyinleo and thrilled to pen down this experience of mind and encourage you to work hard even at the point of giving up, learn to to manage and prioritize everything.
Do have a blissful weekend ahead and thanks for stopping by my blog.
