What a Turkish man with a gun shows us

X Thread
Simple: it teaches us to love cats.
Meooooow 😅
In the evenings I often go on the internet to look for animal videos. They make me laugh. Sometimes they've even moved me to tears, and in some cases - like last night - they leave me a little disturbed... kangaroo stuff. 🤐 Generally, I try to consume information on TwitterXTwitter and other social networks from which I can get something valuable by my standards. I detest violence and anything that's just meant to spread bad vibes. It just doesn't fit my philosophy of life.
But there is a topic that went viral these days with many memes, you know... of all kinds. I'm talking about the carefree attitude with which Yusuf Dikec from Turkey won the silver medal at these Olympic Games.
His performance was so cool and carefree that I haven't even met the gold medal winner yet. I would shake his hand and look him in the eye to see the size of his ego and the state he is in.
It has truly been Dikec, a retired non-commissioned officer of the Turkish gendarmerie, who has captured everyone's attention, and mine, to the point of overshadowing the one who climbed to the top of the podium.
Curious, isn't it, but what does this teach us? In my opinion, some little things.
1 - It is not necessary to arrive first, but to arrive, with originality.
It was those who stood out and did a good job, of course, who historically left everlasting messages in the world. Often they were not even recognised in their time.
2 - Trust and detachment
You can see in his attitude that he had the confidence to spare. And also that he was not at all attached to a result. The impression I get is that he was there doing what he likes to do just as if he was in his living room playing Wiii. I've seen pictures of other shooters and the hand in the pocket is common among his colleagues. Maybe it's a way of feeling relaxed to execute the action. But Dikec used only small yellow earplugs in his ears so that nothing could distract him at that moment. He didn't need any other gadgets in his eyes, other than his glasses.
3 - The myth of the only one winner... is just a myth
The gold medal is undoubtedly a great milestone in the Olympics and of course validates that one person, among many, who worked hard, who worked hard to be number one and achieved his personal goal and became a hero in history, perhaps even setting a record in the process. However, the performance of this gun-toting Turk shatters the myth of the one-winner. Some say that only those who come first win a competition. I don't think so. There are many ways to win in life and - I think many would agree with me - even losing is a way to win. This silver is worth more than gold, as it turns out... and let's not overlook the efforts of... the athlete who was crowned champion.
4 - Dikec also gives us a lesson on how in this Universe everything is related to delivering a message. We are just often not attentive to receive it.
His weapon (the means to achieve something) - the target in Paris 2024 (that something, the goal) - his body, his gestures, his attitude (it is the unconditional surrender, the surrender to that divine plan that brings everything together in its perfect time so that our most desired dreams can materialise and be fulfilled).
Yusuf Dikec is no stranger to the Olympic arena. This is his 5th participation and we already know that the weapon is his element.
The 51-year-old is no newcomer, though. He’s competed at every Summer Olympics since 2008.
In an interview, he said that success does not come with his hands in his pockets. It is ironic. His silver became gold because his Hakuna Matata mode went viral. Okay, he meant that he has worked hard and that he has a history in this.
Let's think about every step taken by this Turk in his life to get to have this moment of glory. A moment that was granted to him, without him even being the winner of the Olympic gold.
I leave it here. It applies to any situation we are living in today. Or this is the way I, in particular, prefer to think...
(By the way, he loves his cat) - This could be a #caturday post. 😉
Point two you mention is what struck me most about Diket. Except for a final gesture, he was in a state of meditation during the whole contest. That seemed to me, I don't know what it seems to you. The word detachment seems to me to be very accurate. It gives the impression that winning doesn't matter, only the process... mind-body-weapon unity. Roll me.... and unity with the whole.
How are you doing?
A big hug @nanixxx
Yes, that point also excites me because the process is beautiful when we have the ability to step back and see the big picture. One result is so little... but there is so much learning along the way, isn't there?
The things that are important to me, the things I love and the processes that touch them, give me life, and also the desire to be my own sunshine.
I am fine. In my daily battles, which are not few, but trying to accept imperfection and myself.
And you?
A big-big hug, @enraizar.
I understand that you are well, in the last publications you look radiant.
I'm fine, just stressed with a problem with the IRS, but I guess I'll get it sorted out. On the other hand, I'm leaving next week for a few days of vacation and I want to leave a nice post of: see you later friends! I hope I have time, I'm looking forward to leave the post, it's my first vacation in Hive and I would like to leave a nice gift.
A gran, gran, gran hug @nanixxx
Oh, ¡vacaciones! Disfruta mucho, mucho, mucho. ¿A gift? Oh, I love all gifts. Estaré atenta a ese post.
;)
See you soon...
No pude hacer nada...
Good morning. I don't know if you have read the book "Zen in the Art of Archery" by Eugen Herrigel. I read it many years ago and I think now is a good time to really read it. I'll let you know...
Good morning. I didn't read it but I'm already on it. I'm sure it's time.... Thank you 🙂
Jjjj... Todo está genial. Abrazo.
Abrazo

😅 Meow. Buenos días.
I am out of words !
😂
Ojalá sea un comentario positivo
muy positivo...
Hello, dear @nanixxx. I have not followed the 2024 Olympics at all, let alone heard about the event you are telling us about. It is very interesting what has happened with this athlete; yes, there are many ways to win, especially if there is perseverance and tenacity. That is what has happened in my country: someone (all good Venezuelans) has won, even if the regime tries to deny his victory by cheating. That is what I have been almost totally aware of for more than 8 days. I loved that fragment of the film. Best regards to you.
