Well the amount of water released into Nigeria in that short period of time can amount to what the earth can pour down in a one month none stop rain if not more than

When it rains, people throw dirty into flowing water and when it has stopped raining some particles left behind will be afloat until sanitation day where all will be brought out again and the area will be cleared. But it is still in the government because they didn't provide good waste management system for her people and if they did the cost will be too high to pay for the jobless citizens they have left hanging

Well if we continue to relate the matter it will still entangle on the government, thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

Yeah it will bro, I am telling you we both are at fault here. Because they don't pay well does that make you pour refuse into drainages, the government are the foundational problem but are we suppose to pour dirt in the first place, vyi only see the ones that afloat what of the ones that sang down?

I get your point Foxy, we should not end up doing the wrong thing because we are given the opportunity to do so. We can always do the right thing even when the government refuses to.

This matter should go to the government and not her people. I mean, are we the cause of this flooding? Seems some people are deviating from the main topic

The people that lost their house and families, there are some innocent ones amongst them na..

The thing is we did not put the right people in the leadership position so how can they do what they are supposed to do? We though some have chosen the wrong leaders and we have to take full responsibility for that. The greed of some have affected the whole country so we have to know that.

0

The thing is that our vote doesn't count, so if it doesn't count how can we correct this election issue?

0

That's the thing, we are just so selfish that it has become so. We the people are the ones that made it so from the beginning and now it is affecting us.

0

It's quite puzzling when just 1% of the country wants to make a change, but the other 99% aren't responding, therefore this topic needs a lot of explanation because I'm not sure what else to say.

0

That's the problem we are facing even till tomorrow, we can talk but doing what we say is a very big problem. It is well sha, let's just keep trying.

The people might not be guilty and so is the government, there are just some people that are not doing their work well but we just blame it on the government or on the people and that is why it's better we don't look for who caused it but the way forward.

I do agree with some of your views, the government as you have rightly said have failed to provide us with larger water collectors and a proper refuse disposal system but this does not excuse us. There is more than one way to dispose of refuse, and even some that do have this disposal unit refuse to use it because they find it easier to just dump refuse into the gutter, so sad really. The first time I witness a woman dump refuse into the drainage system I was shocked, I went somewhere with my mom and it started raining we had to take shelter around some houses, and then this woman just came out and dump all that huge refuse into the gutter, I had to ask my mom why she did it and her reply was, that is their own way of dumping refuse, they had no proper disposal system. I blame the government 80%, after all, what strong measures did they put in place to prevent such a disaster in the first place, even after knowing the disaster that was coming, what exactly did they do? It shouldn't be when there is a flood disaster before safety measures are put in place, they ought to have prepared for a rainy day in the dry season. I also blame the people 20% because really we contribute most to our predicament if the government fail us then we should rise up and save ourselves.

The thing is we are forgetting that among us not all of us are not doing well financially, there are some rich men and women among us who can do some things to help but no, they want the government to do everything for the people. God has given us these rich people for the sake of times like this but just few are trying to help, so tell me why won't I blame ourselves? I love taking responsibility for my actions no matter how hard it is.

It's not news that the government has failed us, so why are we still trying to depend fully on them for everything?

there are some rich men and women among us who can do some things to help but no, they want the government to do everything for the people.

So true, perhaps they feel their money is for them only and not for the mass or perhaps they are afraid for their lives, no security in this country. They might feel as though they are exposing themselves to criminals if they take any action. Nigeria's rich people case is something else, out there in Other countries the rich are always donating to charity towards one cause or the other, but we are just so different in Nigeria.

But even the not financially buoyant also have their own, we don't have to be rich before these contribute to our quota.

The government has failed us over and over again and is time we know they don't care what happens to us. But aren't they the people we ought to rely on, can people come together and gather enough money to build a bigger dam in all the 37 States, I think not, this is still why we rely on the government cause they have the resources to do this. I think our resentment towards our incompetent government keeps increasing daily whenever will see how other countries prioritise their citizens' life.

My heart goes out to all those that have lost their lives, homes, houses and business during the flood disaster, i. I can't even begin to imagine the trauma they must be going through. I think it would be good if there is a therapy centre to help flood victims deal with the trauma, to help them understand that starting over might be hard but it will surely get better, to make them know that there is still hope for them.

The rich men won't be scared of being killed or kidnapped if they want to really help. There is no willingness to do anything, we just want to start enjoying without paying the price and that was how we got ourselves into this mess.

We can do anything if we can only work together but divided we are going no where.

Nigeria don't have such things, only the rich get access to these things most often. We just have to fight our way through the trauma.

We are too divided in Nigeria, until there is unity nothing big can be done.

It is so sad really, I pray to God to give us the mechanism to overcome these traumatic experiences

That's right, the government has failed to provide good waste management services and that's why most people end up dropping waste anywhere they dim fit.

Of course Government must take the bigger buck but we still have our part to play because we know we are the ones that will suffer more and not these heartless leaders.

What about the rich men and women that are among us and have refused to do anything? Well, I'm just sad for them because God has said it before that it will be hard for the rich men to enter into the kingdom of heaven.

The rich people have a very vital role to also play in every society especially when the government has refused to do these things. But no, instead they choose to leave us here and go to another country with their families and act like they don't see what is happening here.

I think I get Stan's point now, as a governor, local government chairman and so on, they should have been able to identify that such a problem will come and try to put things in place so as to reduce the effect but no they did not instead they fled and live the poor to die, that's really not good ๐Ÿ˜.

True, I mean isn't that why we voted for the in the first place yet they chose to ignore our safety because of their own pocket. Even they knew what was going to happen dem no do anything, they know it won't reach their side. Nah only God fit help us for this Nigeria, government no care about its citizens at all, only themselves
