Egg and Chicken

Little Chicken ran happily around the yard,
Sun was shining in the sky, it was a wonderful day.
Unexpectedly, Chicken ran into the barn
And saw Egg in the nest, all covered with feathers.

Chicken came closer to Egg and asked:
"Which came first, me or you? Do you know the answer?
And in general, what does this riddle mean?
