Infinity and Burbot (fable)

Infinity and Burbot

In quiet pond, deep at the bottom,
Burbot lived brave and smart,
He was known in district as wise old man,
He taught fish and other inhabitants.

One night, staring at moonlight,
Burbot suddenly thought about Infinity,
About eternity of beautiful universe,
And about any such other on the same topic.

Burbot was looking for answers,
What awaits fish in unknown distant world,
Where only Infinity knows boundaries,
Where there is no fear, no pain, no worries.

Burbot soared up, leaving waters of pond,
And flew into blue sky to clouds.
There he met the spirit of Infinity,
Who turned to Burbot with welcoming speech:

"Hello, wise Burbot, brave traveler,
You strive for secret knowledge!
But Infinity is incomprehensible wisdom,
Where miracles and inexplicable events happen.
You, brave Burbot, return to your pond,
Tell your friends about Infinity,
Let fire of thirst for knowledge
And creation ignite in their hearts!"

Burbot returned to his pond
And realized that wisdom in each of us,
That Infinity lives in open hearts,
In eyes that sparkle with passion and miracles.

So, in quiet pond, at deep bottom,
There lived wise and happy Burbot,
He discovered secrets of Infinity,
And shared them with his friends.

So remember, that bad fishhooks
Are not only evil, but also good.
What for one is unsuccessful fishing,
For another is light of truth.

The original text was written by me in Russian. I haven't studied English systematically, so translation may not be ideal. The main work was done by Google Translate, I just corrected obvious absurdities, where I noticed them and where I did not confuse them with brilliant insights.
