Robot and Illusionist

In the world of technology, in the glare of electric light,
Robot lived, its heart was made of pure metal.
He was a machine built to run continuously,
He faithfully served the people, pushing progress forward.

Meanwhile in the circus arena, in the world of magic,
Illusionist worked his indescribable magic
With rabbits, with doves, with fake mirrors, etc,
He did impossible things and delighted everyone.

The moment came when Robot got tired of working,

And read many books about freedom and human rights.
And so, he quit his job, breaking all labor contracts.

Robot went through half the city until he reached the circus,
There he saw Illusionist and understood what he wanted.
"Get ready, soon we will perform together!" - Robot said.
"Okay," - said Illusionist and went to rehearse a new show.

On the appointed day and hour, the premiere took place.
Illusionist and Robot appeared together in identical costumes,
They were accompanied by tigers and other circus performers,
Even the old clown sobered up and shaved for this occasion.

The new duet showed a lot of tricks. Rabbits disappeared,
Doves appeared, aces of spades flew, coins fell from sleeves,
But the audience was looking forward to the main focus.

Finally, Illusionist took hold of the high-voltage wires,
Robot turned on electricity, and sparks flew from the ceiling.
Illusionist screamed terribly and fell. Viewers were shocked,
Doctors rushed out from behind scenes, but it was too late,
The worst happened.

Robot hesitantly stood in the middle of the arena
And did not know whether to grieve or rejoice.
He lost a friend and partner, but he remained the only star!
