Water and Stone

The deep stream of murmured Water,
At the bottom, Stone lay motionless.
And day after day he lay there,
Completely without any movement.

Water swirled and rushed,
Twirling swirls on the surface.
But Stone remained motionless,
Paying absolutely no attention to the flow.

One day the current got stronger,
Water shook Stone in tight embrace.
Stone turned and slowly floated up,
Refuting all physical laws.

Water realized that even though Stone is solid,
Enough to show strength and patience,
And any task will be on the shoulder,
Even Stone from the bottom can be raised.

But under Stone there was a hole in the ground,
And all Water in that hole flowed underground,
Transformed from a stream to groundwater,
That flow underfoot quietly and imperceptibly.

That's how until recently life was seething in the stream,
Whirling whirlwinds of fun,
But one thoughtless act of Water
Changed her fate forever.

This is the story we were told at school today,
With a deep nested meaning, how could it be otherwise,
But we, as always, do not care about wisdom,
We barely made it to the end of the lesson
Themselves out of boredom almost turned into stones.
