How are you all doing today? Last week, we discussed about Asuu Strike. We focused our discussions on the Academic Staff union of universities in Nigeria. How difficult it is studying in a Nigerian federal university. I enjoyed reading the comments and i feel happy every time i think of how much bond this engagement has helped us create.

Topic Of Discussion - Hive's Second Birthday/SPK Network.
Yay! The Hive Blockchain is 2 years old. It's two years since the hard fork from steemit. Two years since true decentralization started. In such a short time, there has been alot of decentralized applications, and many more are on their way.
Personally I have written about how much Hive means to me on several occasions. It's such a privilege to be here at this point in time.
So today till Sunday, we would be discussing about Hive. Let's talk about our Hive Goals. The ones we've completed and the new ones we've set. Alongside the Hive discussions, I want us to share our knowledge about one of the outstanding network built on the Hive Blockchain; The @spknetwork!
They would be hosting a celebration for Hive's second birthday on Sunday. You can join in for the live event on Sunday 16:00 UTC (5pm Nigerian time). There will be lot of giveaways and explanations on how the network runs.

This week engagement really look tough because i am barely 3months in hive.
I want to get at least 50 followers in the next 3 months, am on 21 now and also increase my HP from 53 to 200 or more.

About the @spknetwork am hearing it for the first time here on hive,so i know nothing about it, but i just followed them now so i will be seeing their updates

Well, first of all, I was looking forward to the week's engagement, I was having a boring day but thankfully I got the tag.
Now to talk about hive's second birthday.
Who would believe that hive is literally a toddler with all things it has done, not me at all.
Hive is an amazing platform with so many many avenues to stand out and diversify which I have richly benefited from.
I would always say that hive legit changed my life and brought me where I am, I am sure a lot of people feel the same way.
I have made so many friends from all around the world and I wouldn't have done that without hive.
For my hive goals
I have achieved quite a lot I set; currently at a reputation of 65, I am diversifying and finding my edge in so many communities and I am also making connections on hive which is as good as it can get.
For the goals I want to achieve; I think the main one is becoming a minnow, also I want to give more so I am trying to get involved in more projects.
Lastly about the @spknetwork, as someone who has been using three speaks a lot, I can't even begin to talk about how convenient it is, I was creating content on YouTube so I should know.
Anyways before this gets too long, I am looking forward to the airdrop 😊 so I'll definitely be on twitter.

well, the first time I knew I was supposed to set a goal for my Hive account was when I stumbled on the newbies initiative program and since then, I have been setting goals and trying as much as possible to accomplish them.
Sincerely, I sucked at each goal, but, my friends on Hive have been so forgiving that even when I failed, they encourage me to sit up, and keep going.
For instance, during the initiative, I had wanted to hit 1000 HP, and 1000 followers.... Very funny.
For someone who started with an HP of 28, 4 followers, 35 reputations, and 0 Hive 2nd layer tokens, how did I even imagine I would hit 1000HP and 1000 followers..... I was living in illusions... Lol.
Long story cut short, I ended up with 133 followers and 306.891 HP by the end of Three months which was how long the initiative lasted.
There was one goal I was closer to achieving, it was hitting, a 70HP. At the end of the initiative, I was at reputation 62, and currently, I am proudly in reputation 65. This means I am closer to 70 rep than I ever imagined.
My goals didn't stop there, by the beginning of the new year, I set more goals. To engage furiously and to power up every month. Last month, I almost didn't power up, I had offline bills, and I had to use my HBD to cater to them. I did power up, but, it wasn't even up to 10 Hive... Gosh, I was so ashamed. 😂😂
Ask me, what happened to the engagement goal? It went sour 😅
Now, this month, we Started with the @dreemport challenge, and mehn, I fix up another goal. The challenge ends in three weeks. It was scheduled for 6 weeks. We have successfully finished week 3 today. And you know what my goal was? To hit 300 followers and to make it to the top 10 on the weekly engagement league.
Well, the day, I set these goals, I had 180 followers, but, right now, I have 205 followers. I have a feeling I might hit the 300 followers goals even before the end of the challenge. And that would be nice because for the first time I am going to set goals and accomplish them.
And the weekly engagement league goal has been on point too. I wasn't only at top 10 for the two consecutive weeks I started, I also ended up on a lucky number for ma'am dswigle twice, and gosh, she is a generous giver. She has gifted me lots of liquid Hive and I am so grateful.
Oh, let me not bore you with my rough journey. It has been an up and down movement, but, I am grateful for the lessons I am gaining.

Power up? Really? Powering up gives you more HP. At the same time, it increases your curation rewards.
This means, with more HP, you can reward the various posts you feel are good, and others should see them, using your Hive power.
It's the reason people have most of their posts trending. The various curators who give their 2 cents to those posts they find worthy to be found by others. So, they vote it with their powers.
Just thinking about this gives me vibes. Imagine, having such power too.... whistles... If you imagine it, and you want this too, guy, power up more.... Lol 😂

Omo it weekend again
Two years and the blockchain is doing well must be hard work.
My hive goal started with newbie initiative with me trying to have 70 reputations within space of three months clueless me thought it was that easy lol
You wouldn't blame would you I was a newbie then.
But then the newbie initiative did pave way and brought more commitment
I hard a goal of making 10 engagements every day and so far have been able to achieve that ever since I joined hive.
One thing about engagement is it exposes you to more opportunities and create more visibility and yes it comes with bond.
70 😆 I would have loved to see that magic happen to be honest.

I'm very surprised to know that hive blockchain is just two years old.
I've heard about the separation from steemit, but don't know it was just two years ago, with all this achievements I see in this blockchain, also the price of hive surpassing that of steem within this short while ??, *You know, I checked it on coinmarketcap (CMC), both the position, rating etc, indeed there's a lot of optimism this blockchain is upholding.
I wish I had an opportunity to join the engagement, but I must surely pen down something on what hive really mean to me one day.
In a nut shell I would say it's a dream come through.

Indeed this social blog has cut tremendously, the time I do spend on social media (WhatsApp, FB etc), where I earn nothing, but spend.
For my goals on hive blockchain, it's simple and funny though, but I will share with you guys.
I have a target on hitting at least 20HP and 20HBD every month, for my reputation, I noticed the more the upvotes the more the reputations increase, I decided to dedicate my time in making a good posts, at least 8 to 10 good posts that can attract curation and earn me good rep. every month, joining and identifying with the communities I love their vibes, inevitably hive naija is my country in this blockchain, but surprisingly, the system is a different story to tell compare to what "naija my country" is giving us in reality. I love you guys !
My major goal on hive is to be better in my writing skills, (because I express myself/thoughts more in writing than orally), increase my speed in reading things as there are lots of good stuff to read here.
Don't take this one too seriously oo, lol. To be frank I've got a side hustle on hive blog, I already set my targets base on what to show off from here outside the free knowledge in consume here everyday,
I'm looking forward to launch a new laptop that will bear the sticker of hive blockchain forever, at most within the first four months of my stay here.
For my HP I can't stop imagining myself receiving curators rewards too.
For long term and in consistency I've admitted to stay here, hence it's costing me nothing to gain something, in knowledge, skills, awareness and in money.
I know with time I will get to know more people, have more followers and follow more people too.

Sincerely, I had no goal when I joined, still don't ,maybe because I just didn't want to pressure myself. i Did not want to see hive like an assignment that I have to show up for but a platform where I gist and make friends and just be me but with pay from time to time😉.But I see lots of people getting goals and hitting them back to back.. kudos to you guys. Maybe I should work on setting hive goals for myself but I don't really know how or where to start from .

It's quite surprising to know that Hive is just 2years old. For real I've always thought that Hive has been here for a long time now, wow. Two years really feels like a decade, the level of growth has been tremendous, it's been a back bone to a lot of people's lives, I wonder how it'll be in the next 10years with all the new projects coming up. Men, I'll love to still be here for years to come.
Concerning goals, I've really sucked at it, typical for a lazy dude like me. Setting goals actually puts you up to working towards achieving them. I've actually been really unable to track my growth because I haven't had anything set up to achieve.
But I'm glad to be part of the initiative for a start. I've actually been thinking about the goals I'm gonna set, I'm a little scared though, what if I'm not going to achieve them all, how would I feel, would I be moved to set more goals or would I be ready to give up??..I wouldn't know untill I try. So I'll be setting goals...I'm aiming to get to a reputation of 64 at the end of 3months and possibly reach 600HP. I'm scared but then I'm ready to work towards them..
About the apk network, I've been reading comments to try to understand how it works..I really don't know how it works and I'm really unhappy that I'll be missing out on the whole airdrop..

So really, I am older than HIVE and I see lots of the capability. I think I need to be more serious with my life.... Thats by the way.😁
Actually, I may not be one who has set goals for HIVE. In fact, I guess, it is because of the newbies initiative that I am now learning how to set and achieve goals not only on HIVE but in our day-to-day lives.
I have some unwritten goals, of which are to engage every day - previously I did not set a number to it but I now set it to at least 15 posts per day. In fact, every day I come online there are certain people I have the ritual of checking their blogs every day and engaging them; including communities. Just before this week started, I set a goal to post for 7 days at a stretch, although I had some posts I delayed to this week but somehow starting from the last Monday I have just 3 posts - I know I am halfway short of that! But I believe as I go on, I'd be more goal-oriented!!
True and at them same time you need to be committed to your goals , it a different thing to set and another thing to follow up that way you'd see yourself achieving your goals

You might be older than Hive but this is a system and a platform that if you take it seriously will help discover you have the capacity to do a lot of things.
You have to believe me. I have been here long enough to see the proof for myself. These days, I wonder just how I moved from someone who couldn't come up with posts for certain days of the week to making posts everyday.
You will find that Hive let's you be who you were, but, it adds a bit of icing on the cake of your talents, skills, and passion. Take it seriously dude.
Honestly, I still wonder how people do post everyday - quality ones. I think with all these advices I am close to becoming better.

I'm really grateful today new be initiated for letting us write about hive goal back then..
So far I ve able to power up over 900 but then..1000 was the target..
I had to pwer down for some diversification opportunities I saw and then continued my runs. I m sure soon we LL get there and surpass it.
As for 3speak, and the SPK network.. I m grateful they existed o, man for just dey play guitar until YouTube for nothing oo.. lol.
Hive is a place I find expression for everything I really want to express. Learning and earning never felt better.
