Reputation On Hive Blockchain and How It Affects Posts Success

In today's blog we'll be discussing something that I've been researching about for a few days. I'm not too old on the Hive Blockchain so I'm pretty sure most newbies have this question as well and they need to find answers to.

I'll be discussing Reputation on Hive Blockchain and exactly what its value really is. Now before I start I'll just say that this blog post is really open for any opinion from experienced people. If you have any in-depth information about what Reputation really does to posts on Hive, I'll be more than happy to hear it guys.

Alright let's get into today's post already shall we.

Reputation on Hive is essentially the measure of a user's credibility and influence within the entire Hive Blockchain and all its other DAPPs. Reputation plays a really vital role in determining the success of the posts that you share on Hive.

Now I must say that indeed Reputation is not the only factor to the success of your posts. As a content creator on Hive, your primary focus when creating a blog or article os the quality of your content.

You should take seriously the relevancy and value of your content to the members of the Hive Community. I believe that's the number one focus if you want your posts to succeed on Hive.

You should also consider the Hashtags you use within your posts. Hashtags have a great way of categorizing your posts and ensuring that your post reaches the right and interested people in your blog topics.

I for one believe that the community you share your posts in is very important. You should share your posts in the ideal communities for your blog topics.

If you're posting about travels, there's a better chance that it will succeed if you post it in a community like Pinmapple or TravelFeed rather than a gaming community like Splinterlands or Rising Stars.

There are also factors like the time you shared the post. If you shared the post at the time where there are more active users and curators, you'll probably get lots of attention and possibly upvotes.

Enough about the other factors, let's talk about the role your reputation plays in all of this.

For starters a user with a high reputation is often considered to be someone who share quality content. Since it takes a lot of hard work and time to get curated in enough to reach such a reputation, higher reputation users are seen as people that have good content to share and have contributed a lot more on the Hive Blockchain.

Now this is basically like going for a job interview with your first degree and a lot of previous work experience. The interviewer checks your credentials and you immediately find favor in his or her sight. They immediately think you must be really good at your work if you've had all these achievements. It determines high credibility.

Now since most people will immediately assume you shared a quality content, they will check out your posts and if it's quality content or they liked it, they will upvote it.

This means that the higher your reputation, the higer your chance of getting the attention of more users who can possibly upvote your post. This is why it seems that most people with higher Reputations tend to trend a lot.

One other thing it does is that it builds community trust. It is primarily a reflection of your past engagements and contribution to the entire Hive Blockchain.

As you kept posting quality content and kept getting curated, eventually your Reputation increases overtime. So the higher the Reputation, the more prove that you have really engaged and contributed quality content. This creates trust from the curators to you and that also increases your chances of getting curated.

Now one thing that I came to learn about reputation is that it is a way to regulate and minimize the abuse of the platform. You see there's Upvoting and Down voting. When your reputation is higher, you are seen as more credible and it gets you more influence over the platform.

This means you wouldn't want to lose your reputation so you make sure that you follow rules like not spamming, avoiding plagiarism and using AI generated content. When someone with high Hive Power stake down votes you, it can really affect your Reputation and that would make you less credible on the platform so people become extra careful with the rules of the Blockchain. This I believe is a good system to ensure that content or the platform itself is not abused.

With a higher reputation, you are more respected on the platform and your opinion matters more. This is the more reason why people will contribute great quality content and get upvoted well to raise a good reputation on Hive.

So to answer the main question of this blog topic on how Reputation affects the success of your posts?

The short and clear answer from myself @skyehi is that it increases your chances of getting upvoted and having a successful post.

The Higher your reputation the more credible you seem and so more attention will be drawn to your posts each time. Well it may not guarantee that every post you make will succeed. I have already mentioned a number of factors that determines the success of your post in the preceding paragraphs.
