The Role of AI in Employment : A Job Creator or A Job Killer?
Greetings to my Cent family and all of Hive. It's a wonderful day and I'm happy to be back once again on Cent to share some cool tech based blogs.
In yesterday's blog post, I discussed with my readers the science of dreams and reasons why we find it very difficult to recall some dreams.

In today's blog post we'll digress a little into the world of Artificial Intelligence.
It has been a serious case that most people discuss when it comes to Artificial Intelligence and the impact it will have on jobs.
The question we often ask is whether artificial intelligence will create more jobs or kill the little jobs that are already there?
Well the Truth of the Matter is that there's a very high chance that Artificial Intelligence will do both. It could lead to new Job creation and the end of certain existing jobs.
Let's take a classical example; Autonomous or Self Driving vehicles.
Most people say that with the dominance of artificial intelligence in the future, self driving cars will take the job from cab and Uber drivers. This will leave them jobless since people may not need them anymore.
Besides, when we perfect the AI technology behind self driving cars, there will be less mistakes on the road which could make it safer. People will definitely prefer to seat in a cab without a driver than a cab with a driver.
Let's be honest, won't you rather prefer to be in a vehicle without another driver who is basically a stranger that could do just about anything to you at any given moment.
We wouldn't have to hand our lives over to a drunk driver or someone who just loves to drive recklessly.
So that's a situation where AI could cause the loss of a job. However it could be the beginning of a better and I believe more convenient Job.
What I think would happen is that since the cab driver needs to still be in business to make ends meet or provide for himself and his family, they could end up swapping their cabs for an autonomous vehicle which they will own and run.
The autonomous vehicle will do the job of driving passengers from point to point and return back to the cab owner at the end of the day. The money earned will be for the cab owner.
The car owner can then use part of the money for vehicle maintenance and part to handle his bills. So AI took one job but gave a new business model for cab drivers or owners.
Most of the jobs AI will be able to do will probably be repetitive hand jobs like those mostly done in the factories.
It could include a job like moving the parts of a car in a car manufacturing company or factory to assemble the cars. At the moment, people and machines do this work together. However with advanced AI, the assembling of cars could be one hundred percent Autonomous.
Another thing that I think AI would replace will be those that answer you as a customer when you call for help or a service.
You call the pizza delivery agency and you can speak with an AI that has been programmed with effective customer communication dialogue.
Now obviously all these are jobs that people are doing currently which supports them and gives them an income they live on. Unfortunately AI will be taking charge of all those jobs.
I'm also certain that the companies will encourage the use of AI to do the labor jobs since it will be more cost effective. That will certainly cause a lot of employees to lose their positions.
I think because of the drastic and intense changes that will occur with full AI adoption, we need to ensure a smooth transition of jobs for all those that will be affected before we fully establish AI to replace people.
On the flip side of things, AI could also lead to the creation of new jobs. More programmers will obviously be needed to develop and maintain that level of Artificial Intelligence Technology and all its applications in the futuristic AI powered world.
AI could as make a lot of businesses work better, more effectively and efficiently. Since AI may somewhat be devoid of human errors, businesses could produce better quality products even faster.
This will increase the rate at which businesses will grow or thrive which will eventually lead to more job opportunities.
Before AI is fully adopted like I said earlier on, Educational institutions, Governments and Companies will have the responsibility of training people with new sets of skills to handle the new world that Artificial Intelligence will create for us.
As we make our transition into an AI Powered world, the way we prepare for this new era will determine the answer to the question whether AI was good for jobs or not.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog post for today guys. I hope you enjoyed this one. It's always a pleasure to share content that would be both informative and entertaining at the same time.
As always, if you have any comments, question, opinion or suggestion regarding my blog post or blog topic today, I'll be more than happy to hear it and respond to it.
In future blogs to come, I'll be diving even deeper into some of the new jobs or skills we can learn in preparation for the future AI powered world. The world is never stagnant. New things are coming in all the time.
In order for us to be able to keep up and always stay productive, we need to learn the new things and how to take advantage of them to better our lives.

Hello. Thanks for your sharing. However, be careful about using irrelevant tags. For example; Use the 'splinterlands' tag only in posts related to the Splinterlands game.
Thanks so much for the complement and the great advice I'll make sure avoid using Splinterlands then. 🥰
