Finally picked up a nice silver Lion of England

For awhile now in the #silvergoldstackers people have been showing off their Queen's Beasts and I started to feel a little left out. It's been one of those coins I that I always meant to start buying but never got around to it. So while at a local coin store I came across this beauty, and I decided the time had finally come! The capsule was a little scratched so I talked him down a couple bucks and got a good deal.

This is the first coin in the Queen's Beast collection, the Lion of England:

About the coin:
Design: Jody Clark
Denomination: 5 pounds sterling
Diameter: 38.61 mm
Thickness: 6.0 mm
Edge: Milled
Composition: .9999 silver
Mass: 62.42 grams, 2 troy ounces
Year: 2016
Obverse: Queen Elizabeth II
Reverse: Lion of England

Now that I've picked up the first coin in the series I may have to keep my eyes open for deals on the others. They all are really nice coins and high quality silver, and I am very happy that I finally got around to start adding them to my collection. I'm sure it would have been less expensive to pick them up when they first came out, but oh well! Please feel free to leave any questions or comments below.

And please remember that collecting coins and stacking gold/silver is a great hobby but definitely not for everyone. You can lose money and you have to research before you make any purchase. Before you spend your hard earned money always do your due diligence by researching what you are buying. I am not a financial advisor and this isn't financial advice, I'm just a guy who loves coins and gold/silver stacking!

No but it did get a few bucks off, and they aren't too expensive. They are really cool coins though!

Well it’s gonna be pretty expensive finishing that set now. Several of the coins are over $100 each.

That's why it may not happen, I hate paying high premiums!

Once they become collectible coins it’s no longer a premium it’s collector value.

That's true, but I have other coins I'd rather pick up if the price tag is north of $100
