Playing to Earn with Splinterlands: My Gateway to Trading and Investing.

This is a summary of my daily quest and how I use my rewards to further increase the total value of my Splinterlands assets.

The Quest:

I got a dragon quest the previous day, which I completed after wining 5 out of 6 battles. The rules of battle are one of the main reasons why I completed my quest in no time. I entered a few battles after completing my quest to maximize my DEC capture rate. The total time I spent in playing Splinterlands is around an hour a day. Most of that time I spent watching the battle happen.

My Rewards:

As a reward for completing my dragon quest, I got a Pelacor Conjurer and 134 DEC.

Pelacor Conjurer is one of my favorite cards in low-to-mid mana battles. They’re very cheap (2 mana) with no attack but with average stats and useful abilities. They are very versatile. They can be positioned in the front, in the middle or in the back of your line-up.

The total value of my rewards at the time of writing is around $0.5. It’s quite low if you want to cash out immediately. But there are ways to multiply its value. All it takes is time plus a kind of strategy.

Collection Power, Rentals, Airdrop Points and Liquidity Pools:

I can sell my reward card but I’m not going to do that now. I am anticipating that this card may 10x its current price after a few months. For now, it’s a valuable addition to my card collection. It increases both my Collection Power and my SPS Airdrop Points. Any excess collection power or extra cards can be rented out for a daily passive source of DEC.

I am currently earning 30 DEC daily from renting out unused cards. Again it’s not much but it depends on what you do with it. I usually use DEC to buy more card to compound my collection power. But this time, I going to diversify and add it into the SPS/DEC liquidity pool. This way its equivalent airdrop points will double!

Collection Power - The basis for the maximum rank you can participate in ranked battles based on your card collection. The higher the rank, the more rewards you will receive.

DEC - The main in-game currency of Splinterlands. 1 DEC is also equivalent to 1 SPS Airdrop Point.

SPS - The official governance token of Splinterlands.

SPS Airdrop Points - The basis for distributing a portion of the total SPS supply to players and collectors of Splinterlands assets. SPS are airdropped on a daily basis.

Conclusion:

Splinterlands is more than just a fun play to earn game. Through Splinterlands, I learned more about the blockchain technology, trading and investing.
